I concentrated on the camera feed and made a really autistic move. "Very well, Kaiba, I'll play along. Atem, allow me to give this dragon tamer my answer." As I spoke, Atem kept trying to give me "stop talking" signals, to which I did not oblige.

"Wait, what are you--?"

"Oh please, you're so easy to read. I don't think Ishizu ever had to use her Millennium Necklace on you. Other than the visions and her prediction of your Duel with her."

"Fine, but I'm not sure a rookie such as yourself should've started out against a champion like me."

"Former champion." I replied

He scowled.

"To keep things interesting, we'll play by Duelist Kingdom's ruleset. No need for Tribute Summons."

Atem just had to butt in. "Why don't you let me deal with him?"

I saw why not. "This is clearly between me and him!"

"If you go by Duelist Kingdom's rules, he'll destroy you!"

"Then, I'll accept defeat. If that turns out to be the case."

Atem struggled for words that would convince me to leave this to him. "But-- ... But--..." None came.

"It's not like you like me or anything!" I teased.

After he finally stepped aside, I was in for the ride of my life. Well, that's one way to put it...

"Duel!"

"Ladies first." Kaiba offered.

Again, I would not oblige. "Don't be such a gentleman. You go first, I insist."

"Alright." Bad idea. "I play the Hitotsu-Me Giant."

"Is this gonna be like how you lost to Yugi in the first episode? Pathetic. I've seen that episode ten times. Boku no tan, doro! I call on the Wisdom-Eye Magician! Wisdom-Eye Magician, attack Hitotsu-Me Giant!" his Life Points dropped to 3700. "I end my turn."

"I draw!" his smirk meant Atem might be right. "Not a single card can stand up to this. I call on Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

"I told you!" Atem called from the sidelines.

"Stay out of this!" we both yelled in response.

"Blue-Eyes, destroy Wisdom-Eye Magician!" my Life Points dropped to 2000. "I've completed another flawless turn."

I moved my hand in a duck's bill-like motion, imitating his quote. "Boku no tan, doro!" I copied his smirk, I drew just what I needed. "You're gonna love this. I play Scale 1 Dragonpulse Magician and Scale 8 Dragonpit Magician to set the Pendulum Scale! I'm taking control of this Duel starting now! Time to test out my new Pendulum Summon!"

The three of them gave me a confused look. "Pendulum Summon?"

"Be at my side, Chocolate Magician Girl! Return from the Great Beyond, Dark Magician! And finally, I call upon- you're gonna laugh- the FIFTH BLUE-EYES WHITE DRAGON!"

Kaiba froze, completely shocked. "A fifth Blue-Eyes?!"

"But how?" Joey began. "Moneybags has three, and Yugi's grandfather has the fourth. He even said there were only four in the world."

"Foolishly foolish fools! Did you really think Seto Kaiba was the only one to possess a Blue-Eyes White Dragon? Blue-Eyes, attack and destroy both yourself and your other!" Strike one.

"Dark Magician, attack him directly!"

Down to 1200 Life Points, strike two. "Chocolate Magician Girl, be a good little Duel Monster and finish him off for me, would you?" And he's out. "Now, what was that you said about a rookie such as myself not being able to handle a "champion" like you?--"

He fell to his knees before I could say anything. "I lost?... No, I was supposed to defeat Yugi once and for all. Then he'd call me the King of Games. And if I can't beat a rookie, let alone a girl..."

I walked over to him. "To put yourself first is to fall short and be continually disappointed. That's why you could never defeat Yugi. You want to be above all, and it has cost you your championship title. Kaiba, I respected you up until now."

Joey had a good reason to be baffled. "Respected? Rich boy? Nah..."

I ignored him and went on. What I had to say would explain otherwise. "A past like yours and you do not beg for pity. Nor accept it. But now I see that behind that mask, you hide your true nature! YOU VICTIM!" Mind Crush!

Well, that's what it looked like. Ya know, in retrospect, I wish I said, "Soul Crush!" or, "Penalty Game!" instead. Oh well, maybe next time.

"There, Kaiba. Maybe now, you will begin to see..."

"Hey, wait, hooold up hold up hold up." Atem butted in. "Duelist Kingdom rules wouldn't allow direct attacks."

I stared at him for a moment. "SCREW THE RULES, I'M LIVIN' FOR THE LORD!"

"AMEN!" Joey added.
