We started walking around the city when Joey stopped us to look at a poster. "Hey guys, check this out"
Atem read the poster aloud, "Each participant will be given a copy of "Right Arm of the Forbidden One", "Right Leg of the Forbidden One", "Left Arm of the Forbidden One", "Left Leg of the Forbidden One", and "Exodia the Forbidden One" to use in the tournament."
"You'd need a really small deck if you really wanna draw them all." I responded.
Joey ran strait for the PvP Arena. "Well, what're we standin' around for? Let's go!"
Joey wasn't really aiming to summon Exodia, while I had twenty cards in my hand at one time! And I lost every time before I even got a piece in my hand! That's not saying I have it hard. There's a difference between frustration and victimism. In the mean time, Atem seemed to draw them with ease. I don't know how he does it. I mean, he has the "Heart of the Cards", but he should've learned by now that it's God that's at work in everything, and if you're trying to force something, it's not God's will.
But I wanted to summon Exodia at least once, and I ended up leaving the boys waiting outside for hours. Atem barged in just as I was about to get matched up again and slammed his deck down on the table. I took it, grumbling.
It was good move, I guess. I already had one of the pieces in my opening hand, and on my second turn, I drew the head! I used a monster's effect to take control of my opponent's Blue Dragon Summoner, then had it attack their Silent Swordsman so it would be sent to the Graveyard. That way its own effect would activate, and I could add a Normal Spellcaster-type monster to my hand. I chose a piece of Exodia, and a few turns later, drew the remaining two. "Exodia, OBLITERATE!!!!!" I screamed, doing my best not to sound too much like Atem.
After I finally got out, we left the arena and decided just to keep walking to no apparent place. Joey noticed I was a bit on edge. "Somin' wrong?" he asked.
I froze. "Well- um- uh-..." I thought back to what I just did and why. I'll never forget that sick scoundrel's voice when he said those words, "Say goodbye to Exodia!"
"I just had to pick up something for a friend at the arena." I eventually answered.
Atem facepalmed. "You took the cards with you, didn't you?"
"Only three of them... With permission... The three you couldn't get out of the water when Weevil threw them overboard on the way to Duelist Kingdom!" I responded, giving Joey the death glare.
"To be fair, Yuge stopped me before I could."
Then, we heard a voice. "You! I knew you'd show!"
"Who, me?" I asked as I turned to face them.
"Yes, you. You're the girl from this camera feed, aren't you?" The owner of the voice showed us a clip of me from when I beat Joey. I looked up at their face and who else could it be but the bane of my existence?
