Joey and Seto caught on rather quickly to the whole "Priestess' necklace" thing. Likely because they saw it first-hand when I Dueled Bakura. I guess they aren't "hocus pocus mind tricks" to him anymore.

I knew it would be best to take Joey back to his house, but we let him stay at the mansion for two reasons. One, someone has to step up and change the family's image, but Mokuba was too busy pressuring me to take his place as the company heir if Seto doesn't have kids. And two, the guy's never seen the place.

I had a feeling he'd be shocked, but his word choice surprised me. "And I thought Heaven was gonna be nicer when I saw the outside..."

Something told me whether my brother was right behind me giving me the death glare over my shoulder or not, I'm in big trouble. I turned around. "No no no, he's- he's not even here! You're having a dream, you're sleepwalking, go back to bed."

"I think I would know if I was awake." Seto tried to protest.

But to little avail. I turned his back to me and shoved him back to his room. "Now, now, just go back to sleep with that little Yami pillow I know you have."

That night was actually quiet. I expected Joey to be trashing the place. TPing Seto's room while he was asleep or probably filming him with that pillow I mentioned to used as blackmail if he got kicked out. He can go ahead and post it online if he wants, he's only staying one night.

Third-person POV

However, Atem's room was more quiet than usual. Normally, he'd be listening to Indian music to help him sleep. Closest thing to remind him of home. But tonight, the lights were on past midnight. At least, the light coming from his computer.

No, there's no chance of him becoming a DigiDestined, he was listening to a different song. A song he could relate more to than the usual modern-day music he and Yugi would listen to.

I'm still awake tonight

Well, that part's a coincidence.

Broken up inside
I want to run
But I don't know where to go
I'm calling Your name
Through the pain
Will You turn Your face to me?
I'm crying out, "I need a miracle"

Quite possibly the connection, but who would he accept said miracle from?

If You could make the sun burn through the night
And You could make the dead man come alive

There it is. Atem was the dead man God made come alive. Twice. Once in the Millennium Puzzle, and again when the Egyptian gods realized their thirst for his blood.

If You could make the oceans all run dry
Then I know You can change my life
I know You can change my life

Done and done. Atem wasn't like the other ancient rulers of Egypt anymore. It was all because of the spell he used to seal Zorc away. Too bad his memory was erased, he could have spent that five thousand years in the Kingdom instead of the Puzzle. Then again, his purpose hadn't been served yet. At least he got his memory back.

Part of it. What was that spell, anyway? All he said in his and Bakura's ancient Egyptian version of Dungeons and Dragons was, "I am king... ATEM!" and that seemed to work. But something was telling him that he would need to remember the spell in order to be free of Ra. And finding out what he did do to Adia would be nice, too. For both their sakes...
