Hard-to-word story short, I got the key right, Atem thanked me, and stepped through without another word. And then, giving into my urge to escape reality, I followed him. It's time to get this party started!
I was smart enough to get my deck before leaving for Duel World, giving Atem an approximately 65-second head start. Boy, did he use it wisely. I couldn't find him at first, until I felt someone placed their arms around my waist. On instinct, I turned around and slapped them. Just as I thought...
"What was that for?!"
"Well, what was all this for?" I replied, stroking my hip.
"Fun."
"Then so was that."
I walked away as he stood, running into another girl and falling to the ground. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" The girl started pleading that I let her help me up. I pushed her hand away and stood.
After a few steps, Atem caught up to me. "What was that about? She apologized, and even offered to help you up."
My face went red for half a second. I took a deep breath, regaining my composure. "Sorry. Spend enough time where I come from... and you get sick of people being so pitiful!"
Atem chuckled. "You're starting to sound like Kaiba, too. Wait..." He turned to face me, one hand on my shoulder, the other on his hip. "Take off your glasses..."
I removed them with a quick swipe.
His eyes widened. "Wow. The resemblance is uncanny..."
And then, all of a sudden, "Ay, new goil, wanna Duel?"
I turned around and there he was. My one pet peev in the 4Kids dub, Joey Wheeler.
"Ay Yuge. Long time no see. Well, one of us got ta see ya at least. This your girlfriend?" Here we go...
"I wish." Be cool, be cool... "She's playing hard-to-get." Now you've done it!
"How about can't-get." And I elbowed him in the gut.
"So, about that duel?" he kept his hands back, that's lucky.
"You're on, Wheeler!"
He's getting better, but I managed to get his Life points down to 100 and have Odd-Eyes destroy Red-Eyes to finish him off. But, why do I feel like someone was watching me since I got to Duel World?
"That girl, it's like looking into a mirror. Who is she? ..."
