The Siren and the Vampire [Raphael Santiago]

TWELVE

Serena opened her eyes to hear someone talking. She rubbed her eyes, and stood up. She could recognize the voice - it belonged to Simon. She jumped, and almost ran to where Simon was.

"Simon!" Simon turned his head to see one of his best friends walking towards him. "Hey Serena. Do-" Serena looked around. "What are you doing here?" Simon held his arm. "Where's Raphael?" Serena cocked her head. "Simon, what are you talking about?" Simon started to yell. "Raphael! I need someone to tell me what's going on, because it's ruining my life!" Serena looked at him, concerned. "Simon?" Simon ignored her. "Am I becoming a vampire?" Serena's eyes widened. "W-what?" Simon looked at her, panicked.

Serena heard footsteps and laughing. She turned her head to see Camille walking into the room. Serena rolled her eyes and folded her arms. "Hello Camille." Camille ignored her and walked towards Simon. "Poor darling boy. I wondered when you'd come back." Simon stepped back. "You... you're not mad?" Camille chuckled. "On the contrary, I've been expecting you." She started to walk towards him. She bumped into Serena, and looked at her. "Try anything, anything at all, and I will destroy you." Serena said this, her eyes flashing blue. Camille shrugged, and pushed her out of the way. "You see... it's just my blood running through your veins. It can have some curious effects. But I assure you, they're all harmless. In time, they'll fade and you'll return to normal." Simon shuddered. "Thank God. Um..." He started stuttering. "But I'm okay? I'm still human?" Camille stopped walking. "Well of course you are." She then looked at Serena, then back to Simon.

"Or at least you would've been." She then bared her fangs and attacked Simon.
