"Do do you want to sit at a booth or table?" the waitress asks "um, do you have a big enough booth?" Mr. King asks "yes we do" the waitress says and leads us to or seats.
Zoe's pov.
We follow the waitress to our booth then we sit down and we order our drinks and food. Mr King's wife looks at me and says so how did you two meet pointing towards me and Max,
"Oh wel-" I started "We aren't together. She's just another one of my students."
My heart sank. I look down and turned on my phone trying to look ok and that what he said didn't hurt me.
"Zoe?" Mr.king wife asked, I looked up.
"hmm?" trying to sound fine. "can you help me with my makeup?" she said nodding towards the bathroom.
"but you look fin-OUCH" Mr.king said then grabbed his foot.
"Erm s-sure" I say
We walk in to the bathroom "um what do you need help with?" I ask looking at her "nothing, I know what max said hurt you. Mr. Pinn told us you two were dating, I don't know why he would say that tho" she says giving me a hug, I started crying "hey, shhhhhh, it will be ok, I promise. he might not have wanted to tell us yet" she says I sit down on the counter and put my head on her shoulder "maybe" I say
