Will had simply been walking down the street when all of the sudden he was on the ground, feeling pain zap through his hands. He couldn't remember tripping, but it probably wasn't unlikely that he had. He was the biggest klutz that he knew.

However, it soon came to his attention that he had not, in fact, fallen due to his own shortcomings. He had been knocked off his feet by some random person. He only knew this because he could feel the weight and heat of somebody on his back.

He rolled over, effectively dislodging the person from his back. Standing up, he dusted himself off. Today hadn't exactly been going the way that he'd wanted, but he was willing to shake it off and make the day better.

Once he was satisfied with his appearance, Will leaned down, offering his hand to the person who had knocked him down as he said, "Are you okay?"

The girl glanced up at him. Wildly disheveled hair framed a face with cheeks reddened with exertion. (E/C) eyes stared into Will's.

He tilted his head slightly, frowning at her. Something about her seemed... not horribly off, per se, but different. He couldn't figure out what it was.

His thoughts were interrupted when the girl grasped his hand and yanked him down. All of the sudden, he was back on the cold, slightly damp concrete next to the girl.

She just pulled me back down! How rude-!

He was cut off by the sound of something whistling over his head, ruffling his hair. Looking up, he saw a sword quivering in the wall behind him. In a jolt of realization, he knew that if he hadn't been pulled back down, he probably would've been decapitated.

Will heard somebody whimpering distantly. It was only a couple seconds later that he realized that the sound was coming from him.

Soon, his whimpering was mixed with the loud chuckles from the girl next to him.

"Well, that was close!" she giggled. "Probably the closest to death I've ever been." She sat up, fixing him with a surprisingly charming lopsided grin on her face. "Also, probably the most alive I've ever felt. Who knew being chased by a demon could do that?"

Will stared at the girl, completely in shock. "Demon?" he finally whispered in horror.

Just as he said that, he heard a loud bellow somewhere down the road. Looking up, he saw a truly disgusting creature barreling down the road towards the two of them.

Will wished that he had made a will before today, but it was too late. Besides, it wasn't like he had many belongings anyway, and if worst came to worst, at least the world would be free of him and his unholy passenger.

Will tried to stop thinking about those things. He wanted his last thoughts to be happy ones. Ones involving his sister, maybe a couple of him petting a few dogs here and there...

That was what was going through his head, until the girl jumped up, ready to fight the creature. Will noticed the now-familiar lopsided grin on her face - she looked like she was enjoying this whole situation.

He idly wondered if she was insane.

The girl allowed the demon to continue running down the street as she calmly stood there, awaiting its imminent arrival. Will desperately wanted to yell at the girl to get going, to kill the creature, but he was too busy sitting there, frozen in horror.

Soon, the demon was so close that Will could see some details that he really wished he hadn't witnessed. The oozing goo from its unholy amount of orifices, the glistening, oddly blood-like sweat, the jagged teeth of its many mouths...
