(Y/N) had no clue what she was doing. All she knew was that she wanted to get away from Leo's pathetic flirting and she knew that it would've been rude to abandon the other boy.

Black.

The boy that she had knocked down and almost gotten killed. The boy who apparently was one of Leo's best friends. The boy that she was now dragging behind her as she wandered through the streets of Hellsalem's Lot.

She felt like this was some sort of unrealistic romance novel in the making - one that she didn't have the time or energy to put into.

Pulling him up next to her, she dropped his hand. "So, Black -"

"Will," he corrected before she could get another word in.

(Y/N) looked at him, confused. "Huh?"

He chuckled awkwardly. "My name. It's, uh..." He blushed slightly, avoiding her gaze. "It's Will. Black's just a nickname."

"Oh! That makes a lot more sense than what I had originally been thinking." (Y/N) glanced at her feet, twisting her hair around her finger. Once again, it would seem her fidgeting habit would come into play. How wonderful. "I genuinely thought that your name was Black."

"Really?" Will said, laughing lightly. "Why?"

She shrugged. "I've heard weirder names."

Will slipped his hands into his pockets, staring at her with a fascinated look. (Y/N) had no clue why - it wasn't like she had said anything interesting. Everybody had heard some odd names.

"Really? Like what?" he asked, curiosity filling his face.

She froze, simply staring at him. She hadn't been expecting to see such an earnest expression on his face.

"Like..." She furrowed her brows, thinking. She knew a couple, but she honestly didn't care for the conversation topic. "I don't know," she lied, "nor do I really care."

"Oh, don't do that," Will complained.

"Do what?" she asked innocently. Or, rather, as innocent as she could be with a mischievous grin pulling at the corners of her lips.

He glanced at her, his eyes sparkling and a sunny smile gracing his face, putting her own sly smile to shame. "Come on, tell me."

She drew back and, slightly surprised by his need to know. "You can't be rude," she found herself saying, surprising even herself. "It's my friend's name and she's not fond of it."

"Is it really that bad?"

(Y/N) let out a long-suffering sigh as she tilted her head back to face the road. She had heard many complaints over the other girl's name. "It's, uh... yeah, it's definitely that type of name that means you do not want to get in trouble." She paused, thinking. "Well, sometimes. Most of the time, her mom got out of breath by the time she struggled to the end of her name. That was pretty funny at times."

"Your friend's name's that long?" Will sounded incredulous, but he still laughed.

"Marietta Chiara Fiore. I may or may not have exaggerated a bit about her mom being out of breath, but at least I got to see your pretty smile when I said it."

At that, (Y/N) bit her lip and looked away from him, trying to hide the pink blooming in her cheeks. Did she really just say that? She had just barely met the kid - why was she flirting with him? And by using her friend's name, no less. That was extra embarrassing. If Marietta ever found out, (Y/N) would never hear the end of it.
