The lecture only lasts for an hour, and as they are leaving, the professor, tells them, "there are stalls where you can look at courses you think you might be interested in. I bid you goodbye," the group of them had sat fairly near the back upon their arrival, so when it came to leaving they were more or less the first ones.
They spend hours looking around all the stalls which were advertising courses, and talking to Professors of the subjects that they may be interested in. Castiel and Dean eagerly talking to each other as to which they'd visit next. Charlie is looking, but not as intently as Dean, while Sam and Jess just walk around trying to look older than they are. By the time they wrap up, time has gone on and it's 4:30, they decide to stop somewhere in New Haven to get something to eat. They leave the car parked and find a small cafè they decide to visit. Charlie and Sam both order a salad, while Jess, Dean and Castiel order a variation of a burger. When they finally get to the point of leaving the cafè, Castiel is the one that manages to call shotgun first. They all spend the journey home engaging deeply in conversation, about Yale, and why they want to go there, although Dean notices Charlie's lack of contribution to the conversation, and says to her directly, "You okay Charlie?" She shrugs.
"I was just thinking, how amazing it would be to go there." Dean remembers the absence of her acceptance letter, and begins to feel awkward.
"Oh my god. Charlie I'm sorry. But listen you'll get in okay?"
"Okay," although she doesn't sound too convinced.
They drop Jess off first, then Castiel and head home themselves, they go through the back door after Dean decides it will be too much effort to park the car, and then go back round to the front of the house. As soon as they get in, Sam orders an Indian, while Charlie goes to get the mail. Sam and Dean make themselves comfortable in front of the television, and turn on 'Kitchen Nightmares USA,' only to be distracted by Charlie's screaming.
At the sound of her high-pitched screaming, Dean gets up to look for her, calling her name as he goes, and as he turns into the hall, she runs up to him and dives on him, almost taking him out with the ferocity, "what?" Dean's asks, apparently in a state of shock. She waves an envelope in front of his face and Dean recognises the Yale symbol in the corner. Charlie stares at him, tears in her eyes. "What if it says no?"
"It won't." Dean tries to comfort her, by now Sam had joined them and looks just as tense as Dean. "Do you want me to?" Charlie nods, and Dean starts to peel open the envelope cautiously, as if he were expecting something to jump out of it. He takes the letter out, and Charlie and Sam hold their breath in anticipation. Dean starts to read. "Dear Ms Bradbury. We are..." he stops and looks around at his audience. The next few words, he speaks with great speed and excitement. "Pleased to inform you," before he can finish reading, Sam and Charlie have both started manically screaming and celebrating. They run around the house in triumph and pure elation at the news.
Dean walks down the same road he took with Charlie when they had gone to Cas' party. Dean had got a text from Castiel saying, 'Sorry to bother you, can I stay again?' Dean had replied with a simple 'yes' and set off to meet him. As he gets closer to Cas' house, he hears shouting, and assumes it's another party that Cas wants to get away from, but he realises it's not a party, it's people fighting. As he approaches he sees Cas on the doorstep, holding a bottle of vodka. Dean approaches him and once he notices his state, tries to take the alcohol, however Cas pulls it away and shouts, 'no!' Dean bends down in front of him, and says, "Hey Cas. Look at me. Put the bottle down, I'm taking you to mine remember?" Cas nods and throws the bottle to one side. As Dean looks in his eyes, he realises just how drunk Castiel is. More so than either of them had managed to get at the party. "C'mon." He urged taking Cas' arm and wrapping it around his shoulder to hold Cas up. He strains as he picks Cas up but he isn't that heavy.
The conversation Cas tries to have with Dean in the journey back makes no sense to Dean, but he nods and pretends anyway. By the time they get back Castiel is sweating like mad and panting. Dean decides it's best to get the sofa bed back out, and asks Charlie and Sam to help him with it, and he puts a half conscious Cas on his bed, while he remakes the sofa bed. Sam and Charlie both depart after saying goodnight to their own rooms, while Dean tries to talk to Cas.
"Who was fighting." Cas looks as though he's about to start talking, but instead he leaves abruptly. Dean's confusion only remains for a minute, as he hears retching from the bathroom. He sighs and thinks how long of a night this was going to be, but promising to take care of Cas like he'd done to him at his party. Dean positions himself similarly to how Cas had a couple of nights ago, and with a strange sense of deja vú, rubs his back in a similar way shushing him gently. As Cas finishes, he looks at Dean and to Dean's surprise, bursts into tears.
Dean guides the sobbing man back to the room, with a plastic bucket which he places next to the bed. He sits Castiel down, who carries on sobbing. Dean sits next to him and puts his arm around him. Cas moves his head so it's almost burrowed in Dean's chest, and as Dean comforts him, he says in between sobs, "my brother came back. Lucifer. He came back."
