The Good and the Bad

14th December 2033 (Jax is 9 months old)

Brax's POV 

I don't know who's idea it was to have five kids under the age of two in the house at the same time, but they do need a good smack across the head, all I've been hearing is crying and more crying. Jace, Coop and I have been left alone to supervise the kids as the Lexi, Tahni and Jaz are getting their hair and make up done for Kayla's hens night. All three of them are so excited about going out and partying the night away, Lexi was also super excited as she's due to receive her year twelve results in the mail today as well.

"Listen." Jace whispered as he pressed a finger to his lips, the three of us were sitting on the couch at Jace and Tahni's place, we thought this was the best place to watch the kids together as Emmy and Ruby will have their beds and Lily her dolls and toys to play with.

"I can't hear anything." Cooper whispered back, he was nursing his baby girl, Kenzie May, as she cried softly in his arms, seems like a lifetime away that Jax was only 8 weeks old, and lucky for her she takes after her Mummy.

"Exactly." Jace stood up and it looked like he was trying to hear something, I suddenly realised that Jax was now on the rug on front of us on his own, where did Lily get too?. Jax was playing with some cars and his favourite truck, my boy loves anything with wheels, I'm surprised he's still in that same spot since he's been starting to crawl and moving around everywhere.

"Memy Memy Memy." Lily's voice came through the baby monitor, I looked at Jace and his eyes went wide as he listened to Lily start blabbering in the twins room, it's cute how she calls Emmy "Memy", Jax is "Axe" and Ruby is "Roo". 

"Shit, she's gonna wake them up again." he grumbled before he took off quickly to get her out of their room, it's funny sometimes because Lily would watch as Emmy and Ruby got dressed and changed and she'd always be there to help. 

"Lily, come on princess, let them have a sleep." Coop and I chuckled softly as we heard him through the monitor, he really has his hands full with those three, specially with Lily but she's so cute and small, Emmy and Ruby are five months old now. Jace is gonna have his work cut out for him when they are older with no other males around to balance out the hormones.

"I'm struggling with one, I don't know how he handles three of them." Coop chuckled as he rocked Kenzie back and forth, she had finally settled, even with Jax at nine months I miss him at that real small newborn age, they grow up so fast. Kenzie was born on the fourteenth of October after a very painful thirty hour labour for Jaz, poor girl looked so worn out when we first went to see her and Kenzie at the hospital.

"I have no idea either, but I'm sure we'll find out one day." I smiled as I watched Jax as he starting to lean fowrad before he got into his crawl position and moved. Lexi has decided to take a gap year before she starts Uni so she can spend time with Jax which she's also excited about, she hated going to school and leaving him behind.

"So have you got all settled in?" I asked Coop and we could still hear Jace and Lily over the baby monitor, Coop and Jaz moved into the place Lexi and I have been in since last year, as the lease was still good and Maddy said that it was ok for them to live there.

"Yeah, and thanks heaps for everything, it'll help until we can get on our feet." Coop smiled as he placed Kenzie in her bassinet and moved her over so Jax coudn't tip it over if he moved. He has been trying to grab anything and everything in his path and if it's not secure, it can get messy around the house.
