Nikki's POV:

*Saturday, January 17, 2014, 5:42 p.m.*

"We'll pick you up in an hour," Will said through the phone.

"Okay. I'll see you soon, babe," I replied before hanging up.

Will had dropped me off at my house earlier this afternoon and the two of us, Cole, and Darcie were going to go to a fancy dinner and then Cole and Will had a surprise for me and Darcie.

"What are you going to wear?" Darcie asked from my bed, already dressed.

"I have no idea," I stared blankly into my closet.

"Oh!" she stood up. "What about that one?"

"This?" I pulled out the blue dress that she was pointing at.

"Yeah! And wear it with that cute denim jacket that you have!"

"The one that cuts off at the waist?" I asked.

"Yeah, that one!"

Cole's POV:

*Saturday, January 17, 2014, 7:05 p.m.*

"Oh my God!" Darce and Nikki spoke in unison once the carnival we were taking them to came into view.

"The carnival?" Darce almost shouted, obviously excited.

I nodded and she wrapped her arms around my neck and planted a kiss on my cheek.

Darce and I scooted out of the back of Will's car.

"What do you guys want to do first?" I asked, wrapping my hand over hers.

Will draped his arm over Nikki's shoulders after opening and closing her door for her, "I want to play some games."

"I don't know, I kind of feel like going on the Ferris wheel first. What do you think, babe?" Darce looked up at me.

"I think that we should split up so that we all get to do what we want and then meet back here at nine?" I suggested.

Everyone agreed with my plan and we walked through the entrance of the carnival before going our separate ways.

Darce and I walked over to the line that led to the Ferris wheel, which was longer than any of the lines in the whole place.

I spun her around under my arm, like we were dancing, so that she was in front of me and I could hug her waist. I hummed the song playing throughout the carnival as I swayed the two of us side to side. I began singing along, softly whispering the words in her ear:

"You only need the light when it's burning low,

You only miss the sun when it starts to snow,

Only know you love her when you let her go.

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low,

Only hate the road when you're missing home,

Only know you love her when you let her go."

We finally got to the front of the line and got into our seats, going around a few times. When we stopped at the very top, my arm was around her as she leaned into me, resting her head on my shoulder.

"You know something?" I asked her.

"What?"

"Kissing my true love at the top of a Ferris wheel is one of the top things on my bucket list."
