Nikki's POV:
*Saturday, May 3, 2014, 10:57 a.m.*
I looked down at my phone and let out a huge sigh.
I wonder what Will's doing right now. He's probably just waking up and making breakfast. How has he been? I haven't seen him for almost a month now and we haven't talked for almost two weeks. I don't even get goodnight texts anymore.
I thought about texting him, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I didn't want to be a bother.
He and the boys have been going back and forth between rehearsals and recording. They've had two more shows, too. But the girls and I couldn't go because first show was Merced and the other was in San Francisco.
They had another show in San Leandro last night so they were still in the Bay Area. I wonder when they're coming home.
I picked up my phone and dialed Will's number. My thumb hovered over the call button as I contemplated whether or not to press it.
I connected my thumb to the screen and held my breath as it rang.
One ring.
No one answers on the first ring.
Two rings.
He's probably pulling his phone out of his pocket right now.
Three rings.
Actually, his phone's probably in the other room and he's going to get it now.
Four rings.
He's going to answer.
Five rings.
He has to.
"Hello, you have reached the voicemail box of-"
I hung up the phone. I knew it was a bad idea to call him.
I dialed Darcie's number and she answered on the second ring.
Darcie's POV:
*Saturday, May 3, 2014, 11:21 a.m.*
"Bruxies?" I said into the phone as soon as Lina answered.
"Yeah," she answered back sounding as upset as I was.
"Nikki and I will pick you up now," I told her.
"Okay, bye."
"Bye."
"Dana hasn't been talking to her either?" Nikki asked me.
"No," I shook my head. "Seems that the three of us aren't as lucky as Emily and Alex."
"Or not as special," Nikki sighed, pulling her car out of my driveway.
"They're probably just busy, right?" I tried to convince both her and myself.
"For two weeks?" she looked at me.
I sighed. She was right.
We got to Lina's house and Nikki honked the horn and she came outside.
"I mean, I know they're busy and all, but is a simple good morning text too much to ask for?" Lina asked as soon as she got in the car. "Even if he's not going to say, 'good morning,' then he could at least respond when I say it."
"He didn't answer you either?" Nikki asked her.
"No," Lina crossed her arms over her chest. "Did you text Will, too?"
"No," Nikki shook her head. "I did call him though."
"I haven't talked to Cole for a week," Darcie sighed.
"Two," Nikki said.
"You guys are lucky," Lina said. "Dana hasn't even texted me for almost three."
We were all silent.
"What do you think they're doing?" I finally spoke.
"Probably rehearsing," Nikki answered.
Someone's phone started ringing.
"I'll take you girl, just anywhere you wanna be, your every desire," the guys' new song played throughout the car.
"Is it..?" Lina didn't have to finish her question for us to know who she was talking about.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Are you going to answer?" Nikki asked me.
"Yeah," I nodded again. "I'm just letting it ring first."
I didn't want Cole thinking that I had nothing better to do than to sit around and wait for his call.
"Hello?" I finally answered, putting it on speaker for Nikki and Lina to hear.
"Hey, Darce!" I heard Cole. God, I've missed his voice so much.
"Hi," I said back.
"So, guess what," he spoke.
"What?" I asked.
I looked at Nikki and Lina with an irritated look on my face. They looked equally as irritated but they just shrugged.
Was he really going to act like everything was normal?
"I'm coming home today!" he said. After he said that Gabe's, Will's, Dalton's, and Dana's voices became audible in the background while they joked around and sang the lyrics to I'm Coming Home by P Diddy.
"Are you with the guys?" I asked him, looking back at Nikki and Lina.
"Yeah," he said. "But didn't you hear me? We're coming home! I get to see you!"
I stayed quiet.
"Darce?" he spoke.
"Yeah," I said. "Yeah, that's great."
"I know!"
"Are you guys driving back right now?" I asked him.
"Yea, but I have to go, but I'll see you tonight, okay?"
"O-okay," I stuttered out.
"Bye!"
"I love you," I said but it was too late because he already hung up.
Nikki pulled into a parking spot outside of Bruxies and the three of us just sat in her car.
"They're in the car," Lina said in disbelief. "They're in the fucking car."
"And they can't even text us," Nikki added.
"He," I began. "He didn't even say, 'I love you.'"
