Emily's POV:

*Friday, January 30, 2014, 7:29 p.m.*

"So, Mom, is it cool if I go to Darcie's house and sleepover tonight?" I asked my mom while she and I cleaned the dishes as Dalton and my dad started talking about hockey.

"Darcie? Oh, yeah, I guess that's fine," my mom said. "But did you already clean your room?"

"Yes, mom."

"How are you going to get there?"

"Dalton can give me a ride," I told her. "Right, babe?"

"Of course!" he smiled over at us.

"See?" I turned back to my mom. "So, yes?"

"Sure, that's fine."

"Thank you!" I smiled and kissed her cheek before putting the last plate in the dishwasher.

"Come on, babe. I'm going to get my stuff," I motioned for Dalton to follow me upstairs.

He came up to my room with me and sat on my bed as I started putting my toothbrush into a bag.

"So your mom believed you?" he asked.

"Yeah, I just told her that I was spending the night at Darcie's," I put a sweatshirt and jeans in my bag before grabbing some underwear out of one of my drawers.

"Why do you need that? Just wear the ones you're wearing now. I'm sure that they're clean and don't you always just wear what you were wearing the night before when you stay over? Just wear the ones you have now," he repeated.

"Yeah, that could work," I began. "If I were wearing any."

His eyes got slightly wider and he then stood up and grabbed my back for me. He reached for my hand and said, "Let's go."

Dana's POV:

*Saturday, January 31, 2014, 12:15 p.m.*

"Mom?" I called, poking my head out of my bedroom.

"Yeah, sweetie?" I heard her call from downstairs.

I jogged down the staircase and stood in front of her, "Does this look okay?"

She looked me up and down and nodded, "Yeah, why?"

"Because I'm going with Lina to her cousin's party and I'm meeting basically her whole family," I explained.

"And?" she asked me.

"I'm just nervous," I sighed, sitting on the bottom step. "I want to make a good impression on her family."

She walked over and sat down next to me, "Sweetie, you have nothing to be nervous about. You're a sweet boy and you care about Lina a lot, I can tell by the way you look at her. Dana, you love that girl. Show her family that and you're golden. Just be yourself; you'll be fine."

"Thanks, Mom," I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and kissed her head. I stood up and went back up to my room. "Love you!"

"I love you, too."

Right when I got back to my room, my phone started ringing.

"Hey, baby," I answered the call from Lina.

"Hi! We're going to pick you up around one, so be ready then."

"Sounds good. Just text me when you're on your way."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay."
