Nat watched in annoyance Cam giggling as her and Seth blew the burned marshmallow out that was on fire. She was in front of him, her back laying on his chest, his arms around her, and it seemed as though she forgot all him being there.

He brought the can of beer up to his mouth and took a long sip. He couldn’t take it anymore. Why isn’t she trying to get his attention like how she use to do? Has always has girls screaming and obsessing over him. Why isn’t Cam?

He sighed then and threw the empty can in the fire. He looked over at Cam again to see her snuggling up against Seth who pulled a blanket over them.

Nat grumbled under his breath and got up to get another beer. He can’t do this anymore. He can’t sit there and watch the girl he loves be with another guy. He has to try hard to get her back.

But why does it have to hurt so much?

He went over to the truck where the cooler with drinks in was and grabbed the bottle of vodka that was in there. He turned to go into the woods, but Amber was in front of him. She looked down at the bottle and back up at him, “Wanna share that with someone.”, she asked, twirling a strain of her hair around her finger.

            “Not really.”, he said.

“Well, do you at least want company? I’m getting bored.”, she said, sighing heavily. “I promise, no funny business.”,

He pursed his lips and moved them to one side. He isn’t sure that’s a good idea to be alone with Amber since the last time they were together alone, they had sex. But right now, he doesn’t want to be alone and Kyle was off flirting with one of Cam’s friends. He just wants company, nothing intimate  He sighed, “Okay, come on.”,

They went towards the woods and Nat felt a gaze someone gaze on the way. He turned his head to see Cam watching them go in the woods. He saw the jealous look on her face before turning his head back around.

Nat and Amber walked around the woods for about ten minutes. They didn’t really go out far, really just walking in a circle so they wouldn’t get lost and stayed close to the group.

They stopped a large rock and sat down on it. Nat took the cap off the vodka and took a sip. His nose scrunched up a little and he held it out towards Amber. She shook her hand, “No thanks, I’m—I can’t really have any.”,

He just shrugged, “Whatever.”, he said, taking another sip.

They just sat there, enjoying each other company. Well, Nat was. Amber must have felt something different. “So, why didn’t you go back? I heard you were only suppose to be here for two weeks. Those two weeks passed.”,

“I have something I want, but having a hard time getting.”, he said, taking another sip. He was drunk, that was for sure. That’s all he wants right now, feeling light and out of the world. He chuckled once in his throat, “My manager was pissed for sure, though. In my two years in this career, I have never heard him that mad, even when I destroyed that hotel room seven months ago from being totally drunk.”,

She chuckled once in her throat also, “I read about that. Had to paid thirteen hundred dollars just to repay for everything.”,

“Yup.”, he said, popping the ‘p’. “But I have the money.”, he said, more to himself. “The money.”, he whispered again and nodded. “Yup, the money, frame, and success.”, he snorted. And she still doesn’t want me, he finished. She would want some small town loser who will probably continued to work on his stupid ranch for the rest of his life then a rock star that has thousands and thousands of dollars. Millions even.
