“Probably the best dinners I had in such a long time.”, Nat said as they walked up to his beach house, carrying his box that had food in it that he didn’t finish.
He looked at Cam who was chuckling, “I bet, you didn’t have to pay fifty dollars on me unlike you would do for the others girls who would just get salad that would probably be soggy.”.
Nat just nodded in agreement. That was one thing about Cam, ever since they met back in fifth grade, she ate just like a boy in front of him and didn’t care that she burped in front of him. Hell, they just to have burping contest. She was a totally tomboy back then.
They got to the door and Nat unlocked the doors and went in. He turned on the lamp and they stood in awkward silence, not sure what to do now. Usually for Nat, this would be the time he would make a move on his date and they would have sex, but Cam made it clear they just want a friendship—one he plans to make her change her mind about.
Cam walked over to his shelf of music and skimmed threw them, “Did you really listen to all these people?”, she asked then took one out, “Since when did you like,”, she paused real quickly to chuckle, “Dolly Parton.”.
He walked up to her, humorlessly chuckle, and snatched the CD out of her hands, “Real funny, but no, my mom left it here once when they came down for a holiday. And no, I didn’t listen to half of them really. Most people would send them to me so I would listen and review them. I would have someone listen to them instead and write down what they think.”.
She looked up at him, her light brown up were so pretty, “Must suck to be such an important guy.”.
“It does sometimes, but I got use to it.”, he said. “What about you?”.
She stared up at confused, the adorable way her button lip pursers out like always when she’s confused. “What do you mean?”.
He chuckled, “That good girl act?”, he said. Forever as long he knew Cameron Collins, she’s has always tried to show people she was the good girl. The perfect daughter. The perfect friend. The perfect student. The perfect girlfriend. She was a perfectionist. When is she going to let her hair down? “Come on,Cam, I just know you want to do something bad for once in your life.”.
Her watched her face turn crimson red as she looked away and began to walk away, “I have done something I shouldn’t have.”. she said as she walked into the kitchen and he fallowed behind her.
He chuckled, “And tell me,Cam, what have you done that was so bad?”.
She grabbed a water from the fridge and leaned back on the counter, looking down at it awkwardly, hesitating for a second. “I lost my virginity at a young age.”.
He frowned down, seeing the regret and shame on her face now. He shifted his weight awkwardly onto one leg, scratched the back of his head as he also looked away. He knew he shouldn’t have done it and shouldn’t have listened to her when she told him she wanted to. She thought he was coming back and they would be together for a long time. And he was fifteen, his hormones were off the rocket and he wanted to know what it felt like since the guys at school would joke about it.
When in reality, they both didn’t know what they were doing and were embarrassed the whole time. They were still just children…still are. He always wonder what would happen if he got her pregnant since they weren’t protected.
