“I still say this is a bad idea.”, Kim said in the front seat of Chris’s car as they made they way towards the airport to go pick Nat up.
“Kim, he’s just coming down to see the competition.”, Cam reminded her.
Kim scuffed, “I bet he’s coming back for something or someone else.”, she said and Cam pursed her lips at her.
“Nat and I are just friends and it’s going to stay that way.”, Cam said.
Kim turned around in her seat, “Cam, I’m serious. Boys like Nat are dominate, meaning he is going to try and ruin what you and Seth have. He wants you back.”,
Cam sighed heavily, “Well if that’s true, it doesn’t mean I want him back. I’m happy with Seth. I like him.”,
“But not love him.”, Kim pointed out.
“We’ve only been dating for about three weeks!”, Cam almost yelled. “No, I don’t love Seth. But why do I have to be in love with him to know I really, really like him? I’m old enough to know how I feel about someone.”,
“Are you sure about that?”, she asked and Cam gave her a confused look. “Cause ever since two night ago you have been nothing but a lit up pumpkin who can’t seem to stop smiling at the mention of Nat.”,
Cam hesitated, then flew her hands up, “Okay! I’m excited to see him, but that’s only because I know we have a friendship again and I have him back in my life. I don’t want him back in my life as my boyfriend, but as my friend. I would feel the same way if it was you and I’m sure you would feel how I do if it was Chris.”,
Kim didn’t speak back and Cam knew she won this time. “I’m just trying to look out for you.”,
“I’m a big girl, Kim. Thank you, though.”, she said, giving her friend a small smile. She leaned closer to her friend, “Look, I promise nothing ever going to happen between me and Nat. I know you just don’t want me to get hurt and I wont. And I would like my two best friends to become friends with Nat.”, she said, looking at Chris who looked at her for a quick second at like her like she was crazy.
“Oh I don’t know about that. That’s asking to much.”, Chris said. “I mean, I want to rip his buddy head off.”,
“I know, Kyle, Chris. He was just playing and being a flirt. Don’t pay him any mind, you saw how he was when we went to the lake.. He was flirting with Kassidy, leaving you and Kim alone. Try to be civil with Nat though for me. Pleeaase.”, she said in her childish voice as she gave him her adorable chipmunk smile they both can’t resist.
They both groaned and nodded, but kept quite. Cam smiled at her friends and thanked them. Cam already asked Kim about going to LA and Kim hesitated, but agreed to come after Cam begged her for three hours. Kim asked her mom and her mom said if Cam’s parents are okay with it, she’s is.
Now all Nat has to do is talk to her parents. She wanted to snort, wishing him good luck in her head.
Ten more minutes and they arrive at the air port. His plane should be landing in five minutes. They all got out and went into the airport and sat down. Cam and Kim grabbed something from the vending machine and got a bag of M&M’s.
As they made they’re way back over to Chris, Cam began taking the yellows one out.
Kim scuffed, “I still don’t get why you do that.”,
