Chapter 28: "Quick slap in the face" - M.O.N.E.Y. , The 1975
Kiera's POV:
I push away from Kat, my heart pounding furiously.
She looks at me, her eyes popping out.
We ran towards the sound, which was pretty close, already knowing deep in our hearts what happened.
Actually, we had a few ideas but what really happened was not something I'd expect.
We stopped to see a car crashed into a tree.
"Oh my god", Kat whispers as she ran towards the wreck.
"I'm sorry ma'am but we can't let you through", says a police officer.
"No! No! You don't understand my boyfriend was in that car", she cries, trying to fight the man but he held her tight.
"Well your boyfriend ran over someone so this is a crime scene. We cannot let you through", he says.
"Well is he ok?", she asks her voice hitching in the end.
"I don't know. Someone is checking up on him but I think he just needs to go to the hospital and he'll be all right", he responds.
"WELL TAKE HIM TO THE FUCKING HOSPITAL", she screams at him.
He looks down at her and says, "Ma'am, please don't worry. The ambulance just arrived".
We turned our heads to see that he was right.
"Who's the pedestrian?", I ask him, almost afraid of the answer.
That's when I see her body. Again, the stupid man held me back. I tried fighting just like Kat but I failed.
My tears hotter than ever, constantly falling. My eyesight was blurred but I can see that she was put in the ambulance.
I stopped fighting but I just hope she won't.
"Here. I will give you girls a ride to the hospital", the policeman said.
Well, at least he has a heart.
