Chapter 29: "But I'm alright" - So Far (It's Alright), The 1975

Is that alright?

Kiera's POV:

We sat in the lounging room but I was tired of sitting around. Jace and Linsta were held in separate rooms but they were put close together.

The policeman said that Jace was driving too fast and he didn't see Linsta crossing. He tried swerving out of the way but he was too late. He hit her not too hard and slammed into a tree.

The doctor said that Jace hit his head a bit hard on the steering wheel but luckily he covered his head with his hands before the crash. He just lost a lot of blood.

While Lista's right leg was crushed by the car hence, breaking it.

Luckily they were both alive.

Kat tried talking to me but I refused to talk to her. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She faces me and spits, "If you really think this is all my fault it's actually yours. If you didn't make me tell Jace to leave, he wouldn't have been pissed".

I gape at her. "Well, it's not my fault your boyfriend has anger issues. Linsta was just crossing the street like a regular person when your boyfriend was speeding through the lane", I snap at her.

"Yeah well, you're the one that pissed him off!", she screams back at me.

We huff in anger but we can both see tears in our eyes. I sigh and close my eyes. "I'm not fighting with you about this", I whisper.

She doesn't say anything back.

Before the tension can explode between us, the doctor finally came out of one of the rooms.

I look at him expectantly but I see that his eyes were on Kat. "Jace is awake now. He's in good condition for you to talk to him", he tells her. Her tears fall as her shoulders slump with relief. She tells him her thanks too many times to count and runs straight into the room.

I look back at the doctor.

"She is not yet awake but if you want you can visit her room. She's just in a coma right now", he says, his voice soothing.

I nod my head and walk like a mummy into her room.

I see her pale figure on the bed and my heart lurches to see her like this.

The door opens and I see Jace and Kat walk in. I glare at them but I couldn't find my voice to tell them to go away.

Jace touches my shoulder and says, "I'm really sor-".

I cut him off and brush off his hand. "Just leave. Please. Kat, you were right. We need some space".
