The nerves were building up as I made my way through the city to the team's hotel for the team dinner. I'd decided not to attend the paddock today, I thought that spending the day shopping would be far more productive...and I was right, I found the perfect dress to wear tonight.

Climbing out of the taxi in this floor length number took a little skill, my sky scraper heels were a challenge to walk on as it is, without the threat of rogue fabric swirling around them too. But still, I managed to walk down the red carpet as gracefully as I could, and through the entrance of the hotel. I gave my name to the men on the door, and entered the dining room.

By now, there were plenty of familiar faces amongst the crowds, people I had met back in Italy, people who I had come to befriend through Laura and Paul, and even Nico. Nico. I was yet to notice him in the room, which at the minute was a good thing, I aimed to avoid him for as long as I could. I guess, without realising I was hoping to run away from my fears and get through the week without haing to confront him. It wasn't usually the way I went about things, but for some reason with him, I just didn't want to go there. Probably because it hurt so damn much.

"Wow, looking good this evening miss" a voice disturbed me from my thoughts. I smiled, "hey Steve" I greeted him with a hug. "not looking so bad yourself" I added, making him smile. "how are you?"

"good" I said, sounding a little unsure. he gave me a comforting smile, "c'mon, let's get a drink" he said, politely taking my arm in his, and escorting me over to the bar. We ordered some drinks and talked, about literally everything, the cars, the track, the city. Everything, but Nico. And as if right on cue, a loud squeal could be heard behind me. "oh bloody hell" Steve grumbled. I frowned, looking round to the commotion, and there pushing her way through the crowds, was Amy. "Well, that's my cue to vacate the area" I said to Steve, raising my eyebrows. "you and me both love, can't stand the girl" he said, quickly following me. I couldn't help but laugh at him as we took off through the groups of people, until we found an opening.

"she's a bloody nut job if you ask me" Steve said, making me giggle more. "who is?" a familiar scottish accent chuckled. "that Amy" I answered, looking up with a giggle, which I suddenly coughed away, seeing Paul, and a distressed looking Laura, standing with Nico. Mine and Steve's faces must have been a picture, "oh, um, sorry Hulk mate" Steve coughed, feeling quite embarrassed. "It's fine Steve" he blushed, then looking to me, I couldn't help but blush feeling I'd been caught out doing something I shouldn't. "I best be making a move. Vijay wanted to talk to me about something" he added, feeling his eyes fixed on me. I didn't look up until he had walked away.

"well that was friggin awkward," Steve said, "tell me about it" Laura added. I looked across at her, "I nearly died when he came over to us" she told me. I smiled, "it's okay, you can't avoid him, he's Paul's team mate" I said, to which she smiled, moving across to me, leaving Steve and Paul together talking.

"He was asking if you were here" she whispered. "why when his tart is here too?" I raised a brow at her. "is she?"

"yeah, that's who me and Steve were running away from. Can't stand her" I told her. Laura frowned. "why the hell is she here? he told us he wasn't with her" she looked quite confused. "see, full of shit" I scoffed, looking her in the eye.

The meal went surprisingly well, with no hiccups to report. People were now either going their separate ways or staying for some drinks, as I went to go and see Steve before I headed off to Kimi's boat.

"hopefully we'll see you in the paddock soon miss Victoria" Steve smiled at me. I sighed, missing the moments we'd shared with Nico's car. "I'll be around tomorrow so I'll be sure to catch you somewhere around" I smiled at him. "great" he winked at me, giving me a hug. "enjoy the rest of your night" he nodded, "you too" I beamed at him, "oh it's an early night for me, I-

"what is she doing here?" it hissed, interrupting my conversation with Steve. We both turned around, including the people stood around us, seeing Amy marching towards us. "pardon?" I asked, wondering what I had done. "I said, what are you doing here?!" she yelled at me, coming closer, Steve trying to block me from her path. "it's no concern of yours" I replied, trying to keep my anger in check. how dare she! "you don't belong here!!" she screeched again, ultimately causing an unnecessary scene. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her. "you need to stay away from my Nico!" she yelled right into my face, pushing Steve out the way. "whoa! mind Steve!" I couldn't help but shout at her, glancing at him. "Keep away from Nico!!" she yelled in my face. I laughed, "oh I'm keeping away from him alright" I replied, again surprisingly calm. "now I suggest you take a step back and let security take you out before I do" I told her. "you bitch!!" she yelled again, but just as she was about to try and take a swipe at me, she was pulled back by a strong pair of arms.

"I'm sorry" he said softly, after pushing the crazy cow behind him. I brushed a stray strand of my hair back off my face and took a breath. "If that's the type of woman you usually go for Nico, then good luck" I scoffed and then turned away, leaving him to deal with it.
