The weeks dragged by, and the wedding was getting slowly closer. I talked to Nico on the phone practically every night, we Skyped even more than that! Just seeing his face made my stomach ache for him. I missed him so much, and we still hadn't arranged time for each other. We were both so busy. Me with work, him spending well needed time with his family. Especially over Christmas.

"do you have any free time now Christmas is here?" he asked, his perfect face looking at me through my laptop screen. "I have time after the wedding, running up to new year" I answered, hoping he hadn't made plans, even though I knew it was short notice, and knowing he was in high demand. Obviously. Nico's face dropped. "I have to be out of the country that week." he explained. Suddenly my throat constricted. Tears were threatening to spill out onto my face. "his is so hard Nico, how are we going to get this to work?" I sighed with a shaky breath. "oh don't be upset beautiful, please don't cry" his eyes mirroring my sadness. "I miss you so much. I promise I will see you soon." he cooed. "God I wish I could hold you right now" he sighed, dropping his head to his hand as he stared at me through the screen. "and kiss me" I blushed lightly, making him chuckle. "that too" he winked, making me blush even more. We talked like this a little longer, but soon the conversation turned to Whitney's wedding.

"how are preparations going?" he asked, I smiled, "better than anticipated" I laughed, "Whitney is pretty laid back, she'll let me do what I think looks best on her. Kara tells me what colours she'd like and I work with the tones that compliment her skin." I explained, "then there's Lauren." I rolled my eyes, warranting a laugh from him. "you'd think she was the professional artist the way she's telling me how to do her make up" I scoffed. "is she that bad?"
"always has been" I smiled, "I don't actually know why she's letting me do it" I laughed. "but that's Lauren. I just ignore her" I added with a smile. "and what about you?" he grinned, I blushed. I couldn't help it when he looked at me like that. "what about me?" I flirted back a little, "you'll outshine the bride"
"Nico! You can't say that!" I gasped in shock at his statement. He laughed, "to me you will" I smiled like crazy. "well thank you" I said softly. "I can't believe she gets married in just over a week" I sighed, "What are your plans the night before?"
" well, we're all staying at the hotel where the reception will be at, so we will be having a spa afternoon, nails and massages. Then dinner and drinks then the the plan is heading to bed early but I doubt that'll happen" I giggled. Nico just sat smiling as he listened to me. "some of us are staying there on the wedding night, but most of the guests will be going home as it's Christmas day" I explained. "how are plans going with you?" I asked, not really wanting to know as I knew I wouldn't be part of them.

He went on to tell me about the following weeks plans with his parents and the skiing he had organised with some of his friends up in Switzerland. He'd organised and booked his flights too so all that was left was to pack and wait. Skiing in Switzerland over Christmas sounded perfect. "I didn't want to spend Christmas at home if you weren't going to be with me" he said, making my heart break. I pouted. "I'm sure you won't miss me that much" I teased, "maybe a tiny little bit" he grinned. "so I will book some time off in January." I said, hoping he would be free sometime. "I feel like I'll never see you" I sighed, making him smile. "you'll see me. Sooner than you think" he smiled gently at me. He always knew how to make me happy. "I hope so"
