It was now passed lunchtime and the picnic had been devoured long ago. The sun was passed its hottest so we decided to head to the beach here.
We layed down the large blanket the hotel had given to us, and Nico pulled off his white t shirt. I turned away, feeling myself getting all hot and bothered and took to pulling my playsuit off, gladly I'd worn my bikini underneath. I folded it up and placed it on the hamper and when I turned around Nico's eyes were on me.
"should you be wearing that here?" he asked, raising his sunglasses above his eyes. I looked down to my bikini and back to him, "it could be deemed as illegal" he grinned. I snorted at him and layed down beside him. "it's not that bad" I scoffed, turning onto my front. "unless you'd prefer me to cover up?" I raised my brow. "hmm, nah, I think I'm good" he answered, his eyes now trained onto my behind. "thought as much" I sighed, then untying the string to my top. "but you can't do that!!" he whispered, slightly panicked. I chuckled, "will you relax! I'm not gonna flash anything!" I replied, hearing Nico mumble, "shame, we should have stayed on my balcony..." I turned my head to face him "do ya know, I actually thought you were a gentleman" he chuckled, "I am" he smiled at me angelicly. "doesn't mean I can't appreciate my girlfriends form" he added. Girlfriend I was still getting used to that. "hmm." I sighed, closing my eyes as I relaxed. "I've gotta make the most of it now haven't I..." he grumbled. I chose to ignore that.
........
Half an hour later, I opened my eyes to see Nico layed on his side facing me, staring at me. "how long have you been like that?" I asked with a laugh. He grinned at me, his face turning a light shade of pink. "not long enough" he responded. I giggled, making Nico chuckle too. I looked into his eyes, those pale blue orbs looking back at me with the same emotions. "I'm going to miss you Victoria" he said softly. I smiled, "me too"
"are we ever going to talk about what happens next?" he asked. Inwardly I groaned, I knew we had to address this sooner or later, but I wanted to put it off as long as possible. "I guess we have to" I said, rolling onto my side, propping my head up onto my hand."okay well, I'll be honest." I started, "until the new year, I don't know how much free time I'll have" I said, guiltily looking to the blanket we lay on. Nico sighed and I saw him nod. "I am free until January, then my training will start, but I will still be around" he told me, "I actually wanted you to spend the new year in Monaco with me" I looked up at him, seeing him looking nervously back at me. "if it wasn't too soon for us, and if you weren't busy" he added, reaching out and smoothing his hand over the curve of my waist and hip. I sighed as my heart fluttered. "I'd have loved to Nico."
"but your work comes first. I know that more than anyone. I understand" he tried to hide his disappointment, but it was written all over his face. "we'll figure it out." I said, "It won't always be like this"
"if I had my way, you'd fly around the world with me" he confessed, sliding his hand over my curves again, his eyes looking back at me, there was something behind them I couldn't quite read. "I love you Nico" I smiled. He instantly grinned at me, "I will never get tired of hearing that" he said, leaning in to kiss me..........
A few hours passed and it was evening. I'd agreed to let Nico take me out to dinner, it actually being our first real date. Dinner just the two of us. I was nervous, excited, and all that's in between.
He offered to go down to the gym and dress down there after his workout so I could have our room to get ready in. I said he didn't have to but he insisted, telling me that he wanted to see me all dressed up waiting for him. So that's what I did.
It didn't take me long to do my hair, given I had an undercut with a long sweeping fringe. I'd decided to leave it like that tonight, giving it a little more of a feminine look, and my make up was pretty simple too, light neutral shades with a glossy pink lip. The dress I had opted for tonight was pastel Green number, modest, finishing just below the knee. I didn't want to wear something too short, knowing the dress codes are pretty strict. I teamed it with a pair of silver strappy sandals and a matching clutch.
I'd just finished checking myself over when there was a gentle knock on the door. I smiled to myself and trotted over to the door. Pulling it open, I was greeted with Nico, dressed in a black t shirt, black jeans and white hi-top trainers. "hi" I smiled, stepping away from the door to let him in. He stepped inside, and before I'd had chance to close the door, he was pulling me against him. Pressing a kiss to my lips like he hadnt seen me in months, taking my breath away.
"hi" he grinned back at me after letting me go. We'd not even gotten put of the hotel room yet and I was already hot and flustered. Any more of that and I doubt we'd even get to dinner...
"you look amazing" he whispered, not letting me out of his grasp. I blushed as always, giving him a smile in return. "thank you" I replied, "not looking too bad yourself" I added. "well I had to step my game up didn't I" he grinned, referring to the team dinner back in Monza. I giggled, "Are you ready?" he asked, still gripping at my waist. I nodded, "I just need to get my bag" I told him, so he finally let go of me and watched my grab my bag off the bed. "let's go Hulkenberg" I smiled, walking passed him and through the door.
