Scott wheeled into the main hallway, his mother was tending to a woman sitting unconscious, in one of the chairs in the middle of the room.
"Mama?", He called as he wheeled over to them. His mother looks up from treating the women's wounds and smiled at him.
"Thank goodness you came by Scott, could you go get me some clean towels from the laundry room, please. This poor girl is soaked", she asked him.
"Sure mama", Scott headed back the way he came, using his stick to keep the doors open as he moved his wheelchair through. He got to the laundry room and grabbed the nice warm towels that had just been cleaned.
He couldn't help but hug them for a sec and smell the fabric softener his mother always used, even since he was a child. He set them on his lap and he wheeled back to the main hall.
He handed them to his mother, "thank you, Scott". Scott sat in silence and watched his mother tend to the woman.
She was covered in scratches from head to toe, most likely from getting caught on the plants in the swamp. She was very lucky to be alive as she could have been killed in the swamp by anything, animals and even boats if they couldn't see her. She was lucky to also stop by their boathouse, they were the only house here, it was another hundred miles until the next house or town either way.
As his mother finished tending to the woman, Zoe walked in. "Hey mama", she said then paused to look at the women, "is this the woman daddy was talking about?".
"Yes, we thought it would be best if you set her up in your trailer, just so she can have some privacy when the poor dear wakes up", Marguerite explains.
"Sure thing mama", Zoe headed out to her trailer, "I'll come with you Zoe, Scott can you keep an eye on her please". His mother instructed as she followed Zoe out.
"Sure",
As soon as they left the room was quite the only sound was from the woman's slow breathing as she slept on the chairs.
Scott pulled out his phone and looked through his feed, nothing interesting, mostly about the missing ship and the storm. He closed his feed and began to look up guitar tabs for songs, he downloaded 'rise' by skillet to try out.
Suddenly the woman let out a high-pitched scream and sat bolt upright, Scott jumped so bad he threw his phone up in the air, which he just managed to catch it before it hit the tiled floor.
Scott looked at the woman she was panting and shaking, looking around the room in fright until her eyes laid on Scott she backed away a bit.
"Where am I?", she demanded,
"Y-your-" Scott started,
"Who are you? Who do you work for?",
"Whoa lady please calm down", Scott raised both his hands up to show her he meant no harm. "Ok 1st you are at the Bakers farm in Dulvey, Louisiana. 2nd I'm Scott Baker the third child, and lastly, I don't work for anyone I'm 17, I go to school full time and I am on summer break".
As Scott explained the women watched him carefully, "anyway it's not like anyone is gonna want to hire me", Scott said as he wheeled closer to her.
The woman's eyes widened when she realized he was in a wheelchair,"I-I'm sorry... It's just. I've been through a lot recently", the woman breathed out.
"I can tell, dad found you washed up by our boathouse", Scott nodded, "You're lucky to be alive".
The woman looked down at her lap and scoffed at that, after a while she looked back at Scott and said, "Mia".
Scott blinked, "come again?",
The woman chuckled, "my name's Mia. Mia Winters".
"OK that makes sense", Scott laughed, they sat in silence while Mia looked around the room a little less scared than before.
"Oh by the way", Scott remembered getting Mia's attention, "my ma and sister are sorting out a space for you in my sister's trailer, I hope you don't mind sharing, it's calmer there than in the house".
Mia nodded "that's fine with me", then the back door opened revealing his mother and sister.
"Mama this is Mrs Mia Winters, who gave me the fright of my life", Scott joked,
Zoe laughed, "anything scares you, you scaredy cat".
"Oh, my dear are you alright?", their mother asked Mia.
"I'm fine, thank you Mrs Baker",
"Oh call me Marguerite, now come on you need to rest, we've set up Space for you in Zoe's trailer", His mother helped Mia up.
"Scott was just telling me about that, thank you", Mia said as they headed outside.
When the door shut behind them, Zoe gave him a smile. "So, you got scared by a woman", she tried not to laugh.
"No! there is more to that Zoe", Scott defended himself, "she screamed at the top of her lungs when she woke up",
Zoe chuckled, "that was her? I thought it was Lucas screaming at something again, he can sound like a right girl",
"I sound like what now?", Zoe and Scott looked up to see Lucas looking down at them.
"That you sound like a girl when you scream", Zoe laughed which made Lucas grimace at her.
"Ok this is a cat fight I don't want to get into, I'll see you later", Scott said excusing himself.
"Hear that Lucas even Scott thinks your a girl", Zoe laughed.
"I didn't say that", Scott called back as he reached the door.
"You called it a catfight!",
"Not intentionally!".

Scott was stationed next to Zoe in the living room, they were watching the T.V. for any news about the storm. At the moment it was talking about people taking shelter in coffee shops and bars, as the storm is said to being the worst so far.
The storm had hit exactly at 6 in the afternoon, the rain was pelting the old wood walls of the house, it was like the house was being hit by thousands of tiny stones at once.
"Have they said anything about the storm?", their mother called from the kitchen.
"They haven't said", Zoe called back turning off the T.V. as she went to the dining room.
Scott scowled at her for turning the T.V. off but followed her into the dining room anyway.
As he wheeled himself in, their dad came through the doors, holding what looked to be a small girl.
