3 Years later

"Then the prick decided it would be fun to try and hook up with me", Nat complained as she punched the bag with all her might. "Let me guess he didn't last long", Scott asked as he held the bag in place for her.

"He tried it in the alleyway", she hissed as she started to hit the bag harder, "he had a nice black eye and a few missing teeth, as well as holding his crown jewels as I left him to think about what he tried to do".

"Ouch", Scott commented, "are you going to do that to every guy who wants to hook up with you?".

"Only the ones who don't take no for an answer the first time", Nat told him. "What did Elliot want last night?", she asked as she stopped beating the punching back, to pick up her towel and drink some water. "The usual", Scott told her, "he wanted information from a guy who would talk to him. I told him I got it, but he wanted me to torcher the guy".

"You're kidding?", Nat asked Scott, who shook his head, "what happened?"

"He threatened to have me locked up with the other bioweapons if I didn't do what he asked. He treats me like a bloody weapon. You should have seen his face when I just walked out", Scott laughed as Nat nodded and went back to hitting the punching bag he was holding.

"You've hardly spoken about your past, you've never told anyone your surname", Nat said,

"Why do you think the others kept tormenting me, by calling me 'Scott Redfield', for two years", Scott laughed.

"Chris was the one who brought you in and you were the youngest, beside me and Rowan. What did you think the older ones were going to assume?", Nat laughed. "You know they still call you that right?".

"I was hoping it died out slowly", Scott admitted. Nat took one last hit at the bag before she stopped again and moved over to her towel and water again, "I'm done for today. Thanks for helping since Rowan was out and after last night".

"That's ok, Nat", Scott said letting go of the bag, "besides who else can I talk to about hot guys and bar fights", he tormented. Nat lightly punched his shoulder before she picked up her stuff from the floor. "Just be lucky that you're into guys, the other asshats here would have got a beating, if they tried something while I was working out", Nat told him as they walked out of the empty gym.

"Aren't I lucky", Scott commented.

It had been three years since Chris had saved him from living on the streets in Dulvy. He spent three long and hard years training to become a field agent, with Natalie who prefers to be called 'Nat' and Rowan. The three became friends not long after he joined the recruitment program. Natalie was a no-nonsense girl from London, she put most of the guys in the hospital with various injuries, but she never could take down Chris when she challenged him to a fight.

Rowan was a no-nonsense guy as well. He came all the way from Scotland, he took a lot of shit for his accent from mainly the American or rich kid recruits. But he soon scared them into leaving him alone, unlike Nat he wasn't hot-headed like her and kept out of fights, tending to finish them instead or start them like Nat did.

And Scott, it took him the full three years to control his strange power, learning to keep his emotions in check, making him more level-headed and calm in stressful situations. Most of the captains wanted him on their team after their final assessment. But Chris was the one who ended up getting him, with slight help from Jill. Rebecca kept in contact with him, especially after 2014's new york incident. She was using his test results to help create medicine and technology with a friend of hers, for those with memory problems.

"Do you know anything about the mission that Rowan was sent on?", Scott asked as they walked through the hallways heading back to the barracks. "I don't know, I think he went to help out Blue umbrella with something", Nat told him, "he left late last night, he should be back later".

"Yeah hopefully, Rowan and his team get back in one piece" Scott commented,

"I second that", Nat agreed. As they walked side by side, Nat spotted someone down the hall. "Uh oh, here comes trouble", she muttered as Chris walked up to them. "Scott", Chris said as he approached them, "catch you later", Nat said as she walked on down the hall as Scott stopped to talk to Chris. Scott waved his hand in goodbye as she walked away. "What's up?", Scott asked him.

"We have a mission. I'm debriefing the team in 4 hours" Chris told him, "be prepared to head out early in the morning".

"Is that all?" Scott asked him, "you normally have something more to say or complain about".

Chris smiled at Scott response, "you know me to well" he said as he turned to carry on walking down the hallway. Scott laughed as he walked alongside him, "you get to know people over three years".

"You don't sound like that scared teenager that I found back in Dulvey", Chris commented,

"I'm twenty now, so I hope not", Scott replied, "and times have changed you learn".

"You don't even sound twenty half the time",

Scott chuckled at Chris's statement, "so, anything else happening with you? other than questioning my age?". Chris smiled a genuine smile at Scott's questioning, Scott smiled as he said, "you spoke to Rebecca today didn't you?".

"How'd you get to that conclusion", Chris asked.

"The fact that Rebecca is the only one to ever get a genuine smile from you whenever you talk about her or speak to her", Scott told him.

"Smart ass", Chris sighed, "yeah I spoke to her earlier, she was giving me an update on your results".

"Yeah, she spoke to me this morning", Scott said as he stopped in front of his door, "see you at the debriefing, Chris", Scott said and waved goodbye to him. "Don't be late", Chris lightly threatened as he carried on walking, "yeah, yeah", Scott replied as he unlocked his door and walked inside.

Kicking his door shut, Scott sighed as he leaned against his door. He moved into this room, nearly a whole year ago, after he passed his final evaluation and was moved out of the recruitment centre. His bed was unmade on the left side from where he stood, with the bathroom door at the head of the bed. His desk was opposite the door and the wardrobe he had was on the right side of the room.

Scott pushed away from the door and over to his desk. A letter that Abby had given him in the morning was sitting on the desk, he hadn't had a chance to read it until now. Picking it up, Scott moved over to his bed and sat down. Taking his prosthetic leg off and letting it rest on the floor. It wasn't the same one he had when he escaped his family, that one was sitting in the bottom of his wardrobe, he didn't have the heart to throw it away. His new one was designed specifically for combat and training, he was thankful that the BSAA had spent so much money to create it for him. Especially after his first mission with the 'Silver Dagger Team', as well as when he was training as one of Callum's recruits.

Pulling his foot up onto the bed and shifting his leg on, Scott laid down on top of the covers and opened the envelope. Pulling the letter out, Scott read what it said.

Scott,

I looked into that thing for you. Those disappearances in Dulvey Louisiana. The police can't make anything of it, in 2016 they believed it to be 23 missing. But they think there are more victims that they haven't found yet. They believe it to be a serial killer who started with the Baker family back in 2014, but the police are unsure as many people have been said to have seen some of the members around.

I have no idea why you wanted me to look into this. But there was no bioweapon being moved past Dulvey as far as I could find. You could probably find more information than me about something like that.

I did my best to answer your questions. Sorry, it's not much to go on hopefully you can find what you're looking for.

Abby.

Scott sighed as he read the last bit. No matter what his brother and sister told him when he ran from his parents home at 17. He had been keeping an eye on his hometown and family. Trying to find out exactly what Eveline is and what she has done to his family. Hopefully, he could find a cure one day and bring it to them.

Putting the letter down on the floor next to his leg, Scott rolled on to his side and made himself comfortable, he could get a few hours of sleep before the debriefing with Chris and the rest of the team.
