Resident Evil 7 [AU]

Chapter 20

"Where you going, Baker?!",

A young boy, about the age of 10, was running through the woods and away from a load of other boys who were bigger and older than him. "Get back here, freak!", the biggest boy shouted as they chased the younger boy through the woods. The youngest boy was crying and breathing heavily as he mindlessly ran through the woods to get away from the group of boys that were chasing him.

"We just want to see that medal you got!", one of the other boys shouted to the boy.

Scott watched as the chase came straight towards him, he stood there motionless as the young boy raced past him, with the bigger boys right behind him. Scott witnessed the young boy try and jump over a fallen tree branch but one of his feet got caught on it and sent him toppling to the ground. The boy bearly stood a chance of getting away now, the bigger boys were on him in an instant.

"Where you going, Lucas?" the biggest boy said as he pinned the youngest boy to the ground and tore off his backpack, throwing it to another that was standing around the two of them. "We just wanted to get a look at that medal you won at the science fair", the bigger boy said as he pushed Lucas over onto his back.

"Leave me alone", the boy squeaked out as he fearfully looked up at the boy above him,

"Why would we do that? we're friends right, Lucas" the boy smiled down at Lucas,  "your mum seemed to think we were friends anyway, as she invited me to your birthday... where you tried to lock me in your attic".

"Oliver, I'm sorry-", Lucas started to say but Oliver punched him in the face, stopping the young boy mid-sentence.

"Stupid hillbilly", Oliver snapped above him, "my dad says that you guys are all inbred freaks!",

"We aren't hillbillies", Lucas stated as he tried to squeeze out from under Oliver,

Scott could only watch in horror as Oliver smiled at the boys surrounding them and Scott's brother, "what do you say to that boys?", Oliver called to them with a sly grin. The other boys laugh and Scott watched them move closer to Oliver and Lucas. Scott could only watch as Oliver got off Lucas and started to kick and punch him, while also listening to his brother cry out in pain and beg for them to stop. Scott watched Oliver pull back from the group and pick up Lucas's bag that had been left on the floor nearby. Scott watched in anger as Oliver pulled on the zip and opened the bag and start to rummage around inside until he pulled out a gold medal.

"Here it is", Oliver called to the others who pulled away from Lucas but kept him pinned to the ground. "2nd place... and they gave you a gold medal?", Oliver said as he walked back over to Lucas and dangled it above his head, "this is all we wanted to see, you didn't have to run away. Remember we're friends".

"You're not my friends", Lucas said as he tried to get out of the grips of the boys, Oliver just looked at the boy at his feet that was covered in dirt and crying. "Come on boys, I think Bakers had enough", with that all the boys got off him, one of them decided to give him one last quick kick before walking past Oliver and back the way they came. Oliver was the last to leave, he threw the medal into the dirt next to Lucas before turning to leave.

Once the boys where gone Scott watched Lucas sit up, he was caked in dirt and was using the sleeves of his jacket to wipe his tearstained face, "stupid, stupid Oliver", he muttered to himself as he sat on the floor in the middle of the woods.

Scott wanted so badly to go over and comfort his older brother, but he didn't get a chance as he was pulled away from the scene before him and the white light was so blinding he had to close his eyes, as he did he could hear the voices in his head again. 'Lucas, I got to bring him back. I need to find the real Lucas', Scott thought. 'I need to find the real him', he focused on that thought and as he did he could hear a conversation getting louder in his head. When the conversation suddenly stopped Scott opened his eyes and found he was no longer in the woods anymore.
