Chapter 8 - Hate

JCc closed his eyes. He imagined a perfect day. Everyone was happily joking around and TØP music would be blasting through the town. He opened his eyes. Vamp stood before him, ready to fight. JCc knew that he couldn't ever go back to how things used to be. Only one person can make it out alive and he wants to make sure that Vamp isn't that person.

Vamp charged with the black spear in hand. JCc used his sword to block it and punched Vamp with his free hand.

"Where'd you get that spear?"

"That's not important."

A bone suddenly shot out, sharpened at the edges. JCc just dodged but it barely hit the edge of his ear. Vamp swung down again with the spear, JCc jumped back.
Another swing.
Another jump.
A drop of sweat rolled down JCc's forehead. This couldn't go on forever. He had to make a move. So at the next swing instead of jumping back, he jumped up. His feet hit the spear causing it to be pushed into the ground and he jumped foreword grabbing Vamp by the neck. He pushed his feet against Vamp's back and pulled. He may be a skeleton but in this game, anything that a human can be killed by, works on him. Vamp made a choking sound as JCc tightened his grip. But suddenly the goat saw an odd black splatter on the side of Vamp's head.

"Wait... What the-"

It started to spread and some of it started to sneak up onto JCc's hand. It felt like pins jabbing into him as it spread.
"Gah!"
JCc yelled
"What the hell is this?!"
The pain in his hands caused him to leap back. He examined the substance and tried to get it off but nothing worked. A maniacal laugh came from Vamp.

"You don't recognize it?"

"Wait... You don't mean..."

"Yes, it's hate."

Diamond gently pulled Suta's limp hands onto her chest. She then grabbed some nearby flowers and placed them into her hands. The neko stood up and looked down at her.
"I'll miss you Suta."
She said before walking over to see how Sapphyre was doing with Kamila.

Pika let out a sigh of relief as the bleeding finally stopped for Syro.
"I think you'll make it!"
She stated happily. Syro smiled.
"Good, now I have more time to annoy Jcc!"
Pika laughed. She double checked that Syro's scarf was tied perfectly around his wound and then stood up.
"Do you think you can stand?"
She asked.
"Hm. Let's see..."
Syro said, carefully getting onto his feet. Pika held out a hand and helped him gain his balance. They looked over to where Sapphyre was with Kamila and Diamond running to them.
"We better check that they're alright."
Syro said.
"Will you be able to walk to them? Your injury is kind of serious..."
Pika worried.
"Don't worry about me. I'm sure Kamila is in worse condition than me we better check."
Syro said. Pika took a moment to think.
"Yes alright, but if your hurting too much we'll stop."

"Ok."

Kamila flinched and placed her hand on her neck.
"Kami are you ok?"
Sapphyre asked, worry on her face.

"Yeah... I just need a breather... It's the bite marks."
She said, lifting off her hand to show Sapphyre the marks on her neck.

"I got these from some monster thing a long time ago... If I overwork myself... Let's just say i won't be me anymore. My magic is limited so I'll just have to be more careful. Plus I don't have any solution with me because of the games... If I start to act weird it's because of the bite."

"So basically it's like hate?"

Sapphyre asked due to seeing how the blackness seemed to spread on her neck.
"Not exactly, but yes it does kind of act like hate."
Soon they heard Diamond running up to them, with Pika and Syro coming behind her.
"Hey guys!"
The neko yelled.
"How's Kamila?"
Pika asked.
"She's doing ok but the bite marks are spreading and she has no solution to stop it!"
Sapphyre answered.
"Ohh... That's not good."
Syro said.
"But what about Jcc?"
Diamond wondered.
"You can go look for him if you want."
Pika suggested.
"That's a good idea! Your probably one of the least injured, so the rest of us can get some rest and heal up."
Sapphyre explained.
"Alright, I'll go find him. You guys be careful alright?"
Diamond asked. Everyone nodded so the neko ran off and started climbing a tree to see if she could spot Jcc.

When Diamond reached the top, she scanned the area. Eventually she spotted Vamp and Jcc still fighting in a small clearing.
"Ok, now i just need to get to them..."
Suddenly she saw something small and glittery fall from the sky and land beside the tree she was on.
"Hm? What's that?"
She wondered aloud as she started to climb down. Suddenly her foot slipped on a branch but luckily her hair got caught, saving her from the fall.
"AH!"
Diamond shouted as she felt her hair get yanked. She gained back her footing and pulled out a knife, cutting her hair from the branch leaving it short, just at the top of her neck.
"Stupid hair..."

Finally when Diamond reached the bottom of the tree, she ran and picked up the small glittery thing. She quickly examined it to see that it was a golden locket. Diamond simply placed it in her pocket and looked up to see the big aircraft that the dark figure used to watch the games.
"It must've fell from there."
Diamond thought before continuing to run towards the fight.
"I'll figure it out later... I don't have time right now."

Vamp summoned a row of Blasters in front of him and fired. JCc jumped just at the perfect moment, nearly getting hit.
"The hate won't stop me! I'll keep going!"
The goat yelled out.
"But will you be able to stop it... When you kill your friends?"
Vamp growled back with a smirk. He wanted him to be weak so the skeleton could finish off the fight and kill him. JCc frowned.
"I won't let that happen. Dia, Sap and I will figure something out."
He said, leaping at Vamp again. He swung his sword as fast as he could but only caught the edges of Vamp's sleeve since he dodged. JCc hissed in frustration. He needed to kill Vamp before he did anymore damage. He had already murdered so many... Scarf, Liz, Suta... And he injured Syro and Kamila. Vamp would most likely kill everyone if he could. The hate has completely taken over him. JCc could see that the blackness had spread all around Vamp. The goat couldn't take it. He let the anger burning inside him into the flames he held in his fists. JCc swung the sword up and let the fire spread to the blade.
"Time to end this."
He said before swinging over and over again, not stopping. He aimed for Vamp's skull.
"Your not going to kill anyone else."
JCc promised. Vamp's dodges were getting more desperate. He couldn't keep this up forever. Soon, Diamond came into view and she cheered her senpai on. And at the sound of her voice JCc's sword hit.

"Your'e done."
