Chapter 23 - Sneak Attack

A blonde boy wearing a white, button-up shirt and brown, overall-type-pants was walking through a small area in the arena. It would have been a field if the occasional trees weren't scattered around everywhere. He had just emerged from a forest and decided to explore. He was hoping to find someone he recognized in these games but he knew it was a hopeless wish. He had only just entered CCA Town when the Dark Figure came and ruined his vacation.
"Logan what did you get yourself into..." He muttered to himself.

Suddenly, Logan heard shouts to his right. He quickly ducked back into the edge of the forest behind a tree and listened in. He saw a guy dressed in red running from a... goat? Logan shook his head, blinked five times and looked back up. He wasn't imagining things. There was a goat person there, chasing a guy in red. He looked extremely confused. The two people ran just outside the edge of the forest and right in front of Logan, the red one tripped on a root and he looked terrified as he fell.

The goat thing must be trying to kill him... I better leave before I'm trapped in this mess...

He thought to himself. But something stopped him. He looked at the redhead that was now sprawled out on the ground. Logan recognized the expression on his face. He was tired and fear stricken. Logan felt his heart hurt a bit and looked back at the goat who had a sword in hand. He also noticed another certain detail. The sword was gleaming with blood. Logan began to clench his teeth. That thing was insane... He needed to do something about it... He couldn't just leave that person to die! And that's when he jumped out into the clearing in front of the goat with a small, single handed axe at the ready.

JCc skidded to a halt when suddenly a stranger blocked the way, weapon in hand. He cut off his path to Mars who was laying unconscious.
"Out of my way... Or I can kill you too..." JCc hissed out, an unstable smile stretching across his face.
"I can't just let an innocent person die." Logan replied.
"Fine, I'll just take you down to-" JCc was cut short by Sapphyre running in and tackling the goat to the ground, knocking his sword out of his hate-filled hands. She pulled up on his headphones and screamed into his ear.
"YOU PLEB, WAKE UP FROM THE HATE!" JCc just laughed while he struggled to get Sapphyre off of him.
"Heh... Heheheh... I'll... I'LL JUST KILL YOU ALL!" He shouted as he burst into a maniacal laugh. Logan just stared, dumbfounded by this odd behaviour.

Suddenly Diamond and Lilly came running up.
"Jeez Sap, you run fast!" Lilly wheezed out. Diamond just half collapsed on the ground.
"This is too much for my laziness to handle..." The neko complained in an extra whiney voice.
"Shut up and wake up your goat!" Sapphyre shouted.
Diamond nodded and crawled over to JCc who was trapped under Sapphyre who held his hands behind his back while Lilly went to investigate who Logan was. Diamond turned JCc's head to face her and looked straight into his eyes.
"Hey, do you recognize me?" She asked in a calm voice. JCc just started laughing again. Diamond shook her head and looked up in thought. Not long after, the neko's ears perked up as a thought crossed her mind. She inhaled and prepared herself to rap.

"There's an infestation in my minds imagi-" Diamond had barely begun and JCc instantly snapped back to his regular self, the hate on his face shrunk down a bit and he began to rap at the speed of light.

"Hope they choke on smoke 'cause I'm smoking them out of the basement this is not rap, this is not hip hop, just another attempt to make the voices stop. Rapping to prove nothing just writing to saying something 'cause I wasn't the only one who wasn't rushing to saying nothing. This doesn't, mean I lost my dream, it's just right now I've got a really crazy mind to clean!"

Sapphyre hopped off of JCc and applauded Diamond.

"Smart move potato."

"Thank you other potato."

JCc looked dizzy and staggered to his feet.
"What just happened..." He asked in a sluggish tone.
"You were corrupted by hate but Dia woke you up with Heavydirtysoul." Sapphyre explained.
Soon Lilly walked up to the group dragging Mars behind her by his foot and beside her Logan was helping drag him by taking his other foot.
"Hey, this guy, Logan, stopped JCc before he got to Mars! The lucky planet would've been dead by now if it weren't for him." Lilly said, beckoning to the blonde beside her.

"It was nothing!" Logan said with a smile. He turned his gaze to JCc.
"Lilly said that some sort of black stuff on you took over? Why's it called hate?" He asked.

Everyone looked at him with a puzzled expression, except for Mars due to him being unconscious.

"You never watched GlitchTale!?" Lilly exclaimed.

"No, I came to CCA town for a vacation because people kept recommending this place. What's GlitchTale?" Logan asked.

JCc looked disappointed. "Forget it, anyways I'm fine now, I won't let the hate take over again. Dia, make sure you have more lyrics memorized in case of an emergency." The goat said.
"Yup!" The neko replied.
"But what if Twenty Øne Pilots songs don't work for some reason?" Lilly asked.
"Then you guys kill me." JCc said.
"JCC NO." Diamond scolded.
"Um... Can someone fill me in on what's going on?" Logan asked, not really knowing what was happening.!Everyone sighed and gave him a quick introduction and explained how hate worked.

After Logan understood he nodded and said, "Alright, so if someone is infected by hate, they could go insane unless you know how to keep it at a low?"
"Yeah." JCc answered, being the one with the hate in the first place. Suddenly, a groan was heard from Mars. The whole group snapped their attention to him.
"He's awake!" Sapphyre exclaimed.
Mars only looked up meekly.

"Look out..." He said before his head dropped back onto the ground, unblocking the view of an arrow in his back.
