A blood curdling scream echoed throughout the arena. Making Sugar and Arima realize how close they were to other people. They both stopped in their tracks when they heard it.
"That was Diamond." Arima stated.
...
"I know."

"Do you think she's dead..?"

"I don't know."

"Should we go help?"

...

"Probably not."

Arima gritted her teeth and pounced in front of Sugar. Her ears were pinned back to her head and she held a strong stance. She looked up at Sugar with questioning eyes, trying not to be awkward even though she still wasn't used to her mutt body.
"Why do we not help them?" She asked.
Sugar bowed her head.
"Because... They're a group of four. If the two of us team up with them then there's a very high chance we'll become the last six members alive. And if that happens, we'll be forced to kill each other."

"What if Logan found them and is with them?"

"Then..." Sugar paused. "I don't know."

•••

The cloaked girl and her seeming-to-be boss were both staring at the four screens showing the arena below.
"Oh! It looks like that goat died and a marriage is broken, how cute! Ooh! And that crazy chicken girl, Jesse is after that Sugar guy, Logan! Wouldn't Sugar be so furious if something happened to him..." The girl in charge exclaimed.
The cloaked one stayed silent while she watched.
"Shall we cause a bit of chaos?" The one in charge proposed.
The cloaked girl pulled her hood over face a bit more to hide her expression.
"Your call."
"Jeez, your so serious. So what if a few people die?"
"A few thousand..."

The main girl glared at the other. "Don't make me mad."
No reply.
"Good."

"Maybe we can cause a bit of torture up here while we're at it!" The one in charge said. "The dark figure would like that~" she cooed.
The cloaked girl shuddered but stayed silent. The main girl jumped up in excitement and summoned a white spear into the palm of her hand.
"Onwards!" She called, leading the way down a dark hallway.

At the end of the hallway the two girls opened a heavy door into a large, dark room. I'm the middle of this room was a skeleton who was chained to a chair attached to the floor. A dim light from the ceiling showed his presence. He was dressed in a white shirt with an open, purple sweater. His black shorts had a white stripe on each side and purple slippers to finish it off. His eye sockets (which somehow moved) were closed. The main girl came forward with a splitting smile and threw her spear so it just missed the skeleton's head. When he jolted, looked up and saw her he took shuddering breaths and struggled in the chair, to afraid to speak.

"Dev, how rude of you! Not even a single hello?"

A hole opened up in the floor in front of Dev. A television screen and a small control panel rose up from it. The main girl took a stride forward and pointed to Jesse who was on the screen.
"See this girl? She's trying to kill this boy."
She pointed at Logan.
"This boy's girlfriend is over here with that mutt, Arima."
She then pointed at Sugar and Arima.
"Wouldn't it be a shame if Sugar saw this Jesse girl kill the one she loved?"

She turned toward the control panel and pointed at a blue button.
"If this were to be pressed, traps down in the arena will be turned on and Sugar and Arima will be led to a scene of death and broken love!"

Dev tried to look away but the girl grabbed his head and forced him to watch the screen.
"I know that after watching people suffer and die twenty-four/seven isn't exactly fun for a normal person... Or skeleton in your case but..."
She paused for effect.
"It's fun for me! Isn't that right?" She turned to the cloaked girl. She only looked down at her feet in reply. The girl turned back to Dev.
"Isn't it such a shame? That you created this community... CCA Town. And everyone in it will die except for one. It's broken apart and if it weren't for you, those thousands of members wouldn't have died."
Dev looked up at her with wide eyes, he hadn't felt any emotions other than terror ever since the games began. The cloaked girl grimaced at her words. The one in charge stepped forward. Her face and features could slightly be seen in the light. Her brown hair had a pink ombré and her shining pink eyes were filled with insanity.

"Ah yes! I almost forgot about you, my little servant... Hehe, it's fun to call you that. You had a pretty big role in CCA Town too? Correct?"

"Betty I-"

"That's Empress to you."

"I'm sorry."

"Anyways Dev, where were we? ...oh wait I remember now!"
Betty turned to the control panel and pushed a red button. After doing so, a sewing needle was summoned into her hands. She took another step closer to Dev and held the needle at his forehead.

"Remember this? The unbreakable needle? The one that doubled the pain as it scratched straight through your bones?"

Dev shivered, still refusing to speak.

"How odd. Before the Games began and the Dark Figure took you, you were itching for a fight. And now you're so helpless and weak! As if you're an entirely different person."
She lightly scraped the needle to the side of Dev's skull.
"Oh well, it makes you easier to deal with anyways."

The cloaked girl who was once watching, turned away. She didn't want to take the chance of watching Dev be tortured again.

Dev finally whispered out a few words.

"Please... Don't do this..."

Betty smiled.
"Oh so you didn't lose your voice? That's good, now I can hear your screams if you ever decide to disobey... Anyways..."

She turned to the television screen and saw that Jesse was creeping closer to Logan, a weapon in hand. Sugar and Arima were in the perfect place for a trap to chase them towards the future murder scene. Anticipation for chaos caused happy butterflies to dance in Betty's stomach. She turned back to Dev.

"Now push the button or suffer."
