Gang Violence?

Audrey's POV

I slowly opened my eyes so I would get used to the lighting of the room. I don't remember falling asleep here late night, I might just be dreaming. I looked around, I saw Soda laying on the couch.

I walked over to him, I moved his hair out of his face and kissed his forehead. I smiled and walked over to the door, I feel so much better. I felt the wind blow through my hair. I felt the breeze brush up against the side of my cheek.

I had new expectations, I wanted to be more optimistic and spontaneous. I wanted the world or people of Tulsa to see me as a happy and free spirited person. Because right now I feel like people see me as a shy girl, a bit rude and just scared of life.

Every since my parents died, a part of me has too. But someone once told me "you don't stop living because someone dies" it really meant something to me. Made me feel stronger then I already am.

I continued to walk down the road, I wanted to be free. By free I mean away from boys, they're amazing and all but being the only girl isn't always fun. I had a smile on my face and a clear mind. I was peaceful.

I turned around from where I was and walked back home, I walked in. Smuffy ran circles around me, I got dizzy. He was barking and howling, I wasn't gone that long. I've noticed that he feels the same as I do, when I'm upset so is he, when happy so is he.

"C'mon Smuffy let's go outside!" I said and ran to the back door. I opened it and out he went, I laughed. I sat on the porch step while he ran around chasing a chipmunk.

"What you doing up so early? You usually don't wake up till noon." Logan said sitting beside me. I smiled and looked up at him.

"I don't know, woke up this morning. I've been feeling so much better!" Logan laughed and nodded.

"You seem real happy, you alright?" He asked me, I shrugged my shoulders.

"Why wouldn't I?"

"No reason, I took the day off today, so we can do whatever." Logan said, I smiled and gave him a hug.

"Wanna go anywhere?" He asked me

"Hmm we can go to the Dingo?" I asked, he nodded.

"Sure, bring Smuffy in the house and then we'll leave." I followed his orders, he wrote a note telling Tegan we were out. We walked outside, I walked in front of him down the road. We walked in and sat down.

"Logan?"

"Yea AJ?"

"Why exactly did we move out here?" I asked, nothing wrong with Tulsa or anything.

"It was where mom and dad grew up, but there was never any gang violence when they were younger. They told me it's recent you could say."

"Gang violence? Like what, I haven't seen any." I asked, because I haven't seen any. I've seen the different social status's but nothing else.

"Stuff like jumpings, and fights. You know just people saying stuff then eventually attacking or jumping you." He said, as he was saying I was kind of getting scared and worried that I would get jumped.

"Oh, yea..." I said, he continued eating his milkshake and fries, so did I. We finished eating and walked home, I was staying close to Logan, I was clinging on him. He laughed and pushed me, I jumped and ran back to him.

"Why'd you do that?"

"I was having fun." He replied, I shook my head as I smiled, he was laughing at me. We walked back to the house, I saw Smuffy in the front yard, Tegan was sitting on the porch with Steve. I wanted to be rude to him so badly but remember I wanted to be 'nicer' to Steve.

"Smuffy!" I yelled, as I opened the gate, he ran out and ran around in circles again, I saw the front door open as Ponyboy and Soda walked out laughing. I shrugged and walked passed them pushing Soda into Pony.

I looked back at him and laughed, Pony shook his head, he followed me back inside as we closed the door on Soda. It's around three in the afternoon.  Pony followed me to the back yard, I leaned against the tree as he sat beside me.

"Why haven't you been going to school? It's been a bit boring without you!" I laughed and looked at him.

"I dropped out, there's no point of going to school for two monts, besides I'll be going next year." I told him, we talked for awhile till I fell asleep on his shoulder. I felt something heavy on top of me, I opened my eyes and saw Smuffy sleeping on me.

I woke up awhile after, the sun was setting, I realized Pony had left and Soda was now siting next to me, he looked at me and smiled.

"Hey handsome!" I said and giggled, I laid my head in his lap and looked at him, he leaned down towards me and kissed me gently. I looked up at him "How was that?" I asked him, he looked around.

"Amazing!" He said, we laughed. As I saw the stars coming up into the sky I pulled him to his feet, I made him follow me to the roof. "Why are we up here? We could fall..."

"Calm down, I want to show you something." He looked at me with trusting eyes, I nodded.

"Lay down and look up at the night sky!" I told him, he laid down beside me as we looked up at the stars, we were holding hands at the same time.

"Ever since I was younger, I always would find the biggest star and claim it to be mine. I always thought that your star is your wish, and when it comes true it becomes a shooting star.." I was saying to him

"See that star?" He said, pointing to the one beside mine, I nodded and looked at him. "That one is mine, beside my angel's star!" He said, I turned to face him, as he did the same. We looked at each other, we kissed as we were staring at each other.

I was getting cold but didn't want to leave. Soda noticed and pulled me closer to him, I laid beside him as I was in his arms, I fell asleep to the sound of Soda's voice.
