I Found Smuffy!

Soda's POV

When Steve and I finished at the DX we walked back to my house, he seemed upset. I think I may have agreed with a girl over my best friend. I couldn't help myself, a pretty girl, anyone would take the chance.

But Steve had to ruin it for me, but I was mad at him for what he said to her. But Baby gave him his punishment by throwing those cans of oil at him. I laughed, Steve looked at me as we walked up the porch.

"Soda? You mad?" Steve asked me, I was kinda shocked he asked me that. But I responded honestly.

"No, you deserved that for what you said. She was having a hard time." I told Steve, he looked like he felt guilt for what he said, but he'll get over it.

"Yea I guess, why do girls have to be so rude." He asked as we walked into the house, the guys looked confused.

"Huh? What do you mean? " Two-bit asked us, I was kind of laughing, Steve looked like he didn't want to answer that so I went for it.

"Steve said some things to a girl, then got two oil cans thrown at him!"

"Wow, what'd you say to make her do that?" Pony asked.

"Things he shouldn't have said in front of a girl."  I told them, they nodded. Darry was making supper, we all decided to watch tv while we waited for dinner.

We all ate, while chaos was going on, we were talking about what Steve said today from who the girl was. Pony knows who she is, the other's do too because she accidently walked into the house. But they don't know her name or anything.

"What'd she say after she threw the cans at you?" Two asked with excitement, he was almost bouncing in his chair.

"She said nothing, because Soda over here, left me on the floor and talked to the girl." Steve said sternly, he seemed a bit pissed.

"Not my fault, she needed help. She had stuff going on, but yeah she was a sassy one. I'll tell ya that!" I told the guys, we all laughed, after talking and talking we cleaned up and all settled down.

Darry went to his room, while the rest of watched drag races while Dally, Two  and the guys played poker. Drag races were more important at the moment then cheating at poker. Trick is you mess with people's heads or sneak cards under the table.

Plus before the game starts, you tape the winning card under the table. I usually get away with it, unless Two or Dally catch me cheating.

I fell asleep after awhile of watching drag races till eleven, the guys all went their separate ways besides Johnny, he stayed the night. More or less he was forced to by us, he can't keep sleeping out in the lot.

The next morning I woke up to a dog barking, It was around five am. I was kind of grumpy now, I walked around the house looking for the noise, I followed the sound to the back door. I walked over to the door and opened it.

The sun was so bright I nearly fell over because I couldn't see how bright it was outside. I stepped out onto the steps, I now heard howling. I whistled to see if the dog was in my back yard, I saw a small white dog come through the hole of the fence between my yard and the neighbor.

He came over and jumped on my lap, he looked cold and damp. I brought him inside, then noticed he looked like Smuffy. I called Smuffy, he tilted his head and had huge eyes looking at me.

I kept him till around seven, just before I leave for work. I decided to get ready and leave early, Darry said to bring the dog over to Baby's house. That's what I did, I walked down the sidewalk to her house.

Tegan's POV

I woke up fairly early this morning, I couldn't find Smuffy or AJ, I called out but found nothing. She must of slept outside again. As I walked to the backdoor, a knock on the door was heard.

I paused what I was doing and walked back to the front door. I opened the door and saw a guy standing at the door with Smuffy in his arms. He smiled, so I shot one back.

"Hey, um... I found Smuffy this morning, I just came to return him to baby." The kid said, for a minute I was wondering who he was talking about but remembered that that was AJ's name we gave her when she was younger.

"Oh thanks, one sec. You can step in."  He nodded and walked inside, I walked to the back door, I yelled out AJ, then I heard something moving or shuffling around, I felt something hit my head. I looked up and saw AJ coming down the tree, I laughed.

"Someone's at the door for you." I told her she nodded and rubbed her eyes. I followed her inside, she walked to the door. I didn't follow her, I walked to the kitchen and made some breakfast.

"Hey Baby, I uh found Smuffy in my yard this morning." He told her, she kind of smiled and took Smuffy into her arms.

"Thanks Soda, sorry about that, I didn't mean for him to escape." She told this Soda kid, they waved and left. She put Smuffy down and walked over to me, she sat down at the table beside me.

"Who was he?" I asked her, she shrugged her shoulders.

"Some guy I met." she told me ,I nodded to let her know I heard her.

"When'd you meet him?" I asked her, she shrugged her shoulders again.

"Long story short, I met him when we got the trucked looked at, then I accidently ran into his house, and then when Smuffy ran away, he found him, and so on and so forth." She said, I kind of laughed, she looked at me and I stopped laughing.

She left for her room, I walked to Logan and I's room. Logan was still asleep, I might go around town today with Audrey, I have nothing else to do anyway.
