Dinner

Soda's POV

After I got in the house last night, I had to make Pony clean up the mess he made. Darry just walked in the door, he threw his stuff all on the table then sat down and sighed.

I walked up to Darry and sat beside him on the couch. He simply looked at me and waited for me to speak.

"Yea Soda?" I sat there for a minute, thinking of how I could ask him this. But I guess I was too late, Steve go to it before me.

"Soda and I are got invited to Baby's house for dinner!" Steve shouted.

"Who and what for?" He asked us, we looked at each other.

"Baby is AJ, the girl who came into the wrong house? Anyway, I helped her today so the guy she was with asked If Steve wanted to go over because-" Steve cut me off.

"Because I'm his newest friend, so he invited me. But I dont know why Soda here is coming? Maybe because he was standing there at the moment." Steve blurted, I was upset with the way he said that.

"No because I help her out!" I made it more clear to Darry.

"So why did you have to ask me?" Darry asked us, I shrugged my shoulders. I walked down the hall to my room after Darry said he didn't care as long as I'm home before dark. I agreed with his 'curfew', I changed out of my DX shirt and put a white t-shirt with a plaid shirt over top, unbuttoned of course.

"Soda let's go, I don't want to be late." Steve yelled from the living room, I closed my door and walked out. We walked out of the house, walked down to her house witch was beside ours, so not far.

Audrey's POV

I heard a knock on the door, I decided to ignore it and stay in my room. I don't want to see that Oil can, or as Tegan calls him 'Steve'. I heard the door open, Tegan  was either shouting at them in excitement or yelling at Smuffy.

I saw the door open a slight bit, I looked down and saw Smuffy walk in, he crawled on my bed and sat in between my legs. I started to pet him, the door opened again, this time it was Logan.

"Diner is ready, come on down." He said, I shrugged my shoulders. He walked over to me and sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Something bothering you?" Logan asked, I shrugged.

"No I don't think so, I'm just not in the mood to see him."

"See who?" He seemed confused as to who I was talking about.

"Steve!" I replied, he nodded but still seemed lost.

"Why? Did he do something?" He asked, I looked away from him.

"Yea sort of, I'll tell you later. Let's go eat." I told Logan, he accepted my request and followed me down stairs. As usual Tegan stood up walked me to my chair and pushed it in for me, I laughed and punched him lightly in the arm.

"What? Being a gentlemen."

"You always are, don't need to prove it, plus I'm 15 I think I push my own chair in." I chuckled, so did he and we all dug in.

"So Tegan found a job yet?" Logan asked, he shrugged his shoulders.

" I don't know, I have some ideas. AJ said she might work down at the drive-in or bowling lanes." Tegan told him.

"The bowling alley would be a safer job to work in my opinion, less Socs." Steve said, he then smirked at me. I rolled my eyes, he kicked my foot under the table to get my attention. I looked back at him, he then leaned towards me and whispered in my ear.

I moved my chair closer to Soda's, since I was in between both. Lucky me... now he's really on my nerves.

"Sorry I can't do this!" I told the guys,  Logan looked at me, Tegan seemed disappointed and Soda seemed like he felt bad for me. I got up, pushed my chair in and walked down to my room. I closed the door.

I could hear the other's all laughing and giggling. I was tempted to leave my room and join them, but I can't. It reminded me of when Mom and Dad were with us, and we'd have full conversations and laugh. Now we just eat in peace or the odd time we will talk.

It was getting dark, I looked over at Smuffy who was laying beside me on his back. I wrote on a note and placed it on my dresser. I climbed out of my window and climbed down the edge of the house. Once I got to the ground, I started to walk down the street.

I found the park, I sat on the swings and watched my star as usual. I fell asleep. After what it felt like five minutes, someone poked my arm, I turned around and saw....
