So Many Secrets

Chapter Nine

We finished our homework pretty quickly and we decided to look for clues in the forest. We decided to go in pairs. It was Clary with Jace, Isabelle with Simon, and Alec with me. Alec and I went into a dry meadow and heard rustling in the bushes. I looked to see a grayish, horse-sized wolf, Alec and I quickly knew it was a pack member. I knew it was Paul.

"Phase back", I said, and Paul went behind a tree and phased. When he returned he said, "Sam would like to meet them", I nodded and Alec and I started to use the tracking runes. Paul looked confused but didn't ask questions. Soon enough they were all here and Paul and I led the way. When we got to Emily's house, the entire pack was there. Including two new members.

"I didn't know that there are new members of the pack.", I said, I then looked into their minds and saw their past. One is extremely positive while the other is very negative.

"I see that one is very positive, that is going to be a problem.", I said while looking at the boy, but I was more interested in the girl.

"You have been too busy I guess to visit us, and please tell me you didn't bring something to hurt my pack with", Sam said and murmured the last part to himself

"This is Alec, Isabelle, Jace, Clary, and Simon, care to introduce the new members of the pack to me?", I said to Sam with an evil smirk.

"The boy Seth, the girl Leah", he said a bit angrily. Then everyone shot their heads towards the forest. We smelt a vampire. I looked at Sam and gave him a gesture that it was a vampire. But what was strange was that this scent was a bit familiar. Isabelle decided to stay in the house, along with Clary and Simon, to keep Emily safe. The rest of went off into the forest to kill the creature. We all went our separate ways. I was alone, when someone got my wrists and tackled me onto a tree, he was tall with black hair and held a knife. I was a bit scared. My back against the bark and my wrists were being held down. I knew it was a vampire. It then looked at me right in the eye and said, "Aww, little Sabrina struggling.", I didn't say anything.

"You know, you look a lot like your father.", I then froze

"Same eyes, same hair, your father was a good man, too bad I had to kill him", anger started to boil inside of me.

"You're the monster that killed my father and brother", I said

"Yes, I am, now I am about to become the monster that killed you", he said and then gave me a small on my shoulder with his knife. I then kneed him which made him release his grip on my wrist and I kicked his head with my foot. But he had more energy than I thought he had, and he slammed me against a tree. He started to walk away as if he thought he had won. I grabbed my sword and walk quietly behind him and stabbed him in the back and he became ash. I then felt something going down my check and I noticed it was a tear. I wiped away the single tear when I felt something dripping from my shoulder. It was the blood from the cut he gave me. I put away my sword and ripped a piece of cloth from my shirt. I then felt a presence, I turned around and saw Paul there in his wolf form.

"Can you tell the pack that I took care of the vampire.", I told him and he nodded his big wolf head. He then went behind trees to phase back while I used my stele and moved it over a rune of mine to notify the others to let them know it was over. I then felt someone grab my wrist and I turned my head quickly and saw Paul.

"Paul, you frightened me", I said

"Your hurt", he said while looking at my cut.

"Don't worry I'll survive", I said

"Shall we head back", I said, and he nodded

When we got there almost everyone was there. Two of the pack members weren't there, probably on patrol or something. Emily gasped when she saw my shoulder and asked, "What happened"

"The vampire gave me a cut", I said

"Let me help you get washed up", she said

Once she washed my cut I said, "Jace, thank goodness you're here. I want you to draw a rune on my cut."

"Won't that hurt?", Sam asked

"Yes", I said. I gave my stele and he started drawing another. I winced in pain at times, but that was the only sign of pain I showed. Once he finished drawing my rune we all went home. When we arrived at my house, we had a silent dinner and then we went to sleep. Once my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.
