Chapter Seventeen

When I woke up today, I knew it wasn't going to be a normal day. I got dressed for the battle.

I then got my weapons and went to the kitchen to wait for everyone. I has gotten my knives and I was using my stele, moving it over each knife. My mom and Alec then joined me in the kitchen.

"Are you going to join the fight?", I asked my mom

"I'm going to go to Emily's to protect her and Simon", she said. I nodded my head. Then the others came in.

"Shall we go?", I asked. They all nodded their heads. We walked through the woods. Then my mom went her own way. Alec and I were leading the group. We then went to where the battle was to happen. We lined up with the Cullens.

As soon as the army appeared out of the forest, us shadowhunters and Cullens ran towards them as did they. Alec stood in place and shot arrows at them. I stood along with Alec and was throwing knives at them. The other shadowhunters sliced them with their swords. then the pack came out. 1 minute later I saw Paul struggling with two. So I threw a knife at one of them. I then saw Esme and Carlisle looking at one of them. She looked frightened. So I decided to spare her life. I was off. I then saw a red head looking at her army. I throw a knife but I missed. I then started to join the fight again. We were almost done. We are about to win. I then threw my final knife and we were done. We were all staring at the fire that the Cullens had started to burn the bodies that they killed. Alice had then said that the Volturi would be coming. Then out of nowhere a newborn came and Leah decided to take him on. He was about to crush her side when Jacob cut in. The newborn then cracked his bones. I then threw a knife at the newborn and it turned into ash. The pack took him away.

"They're coming", Alice said loudly. We all stood together. Alec and I were in the front. Jane, Alec, Demetri, and Felix came out.

"Impressive, I've never seen a coven escape an assault of this magnitude intact. But it looks like you had help from our friends", Jane said, all of the Cullens including Bella looked towards us.

"We were lucky", Carlisle said

"Luck? It looks to me you won because you have some of the best shadowhunter leaders on your side.", Jane said

"It appears we missed an entertaining fight", Alec said

"Yes, it's not often we're rendered unnecessary", Jane said

"If you'd arrived half an hour ago, you would've fulfilled your purpose", Edward snapped

"Pity", Jane replied

"You missed one", Jane said. Everyone snapped their eyes towards Bree. Her blood red eyes widened. Carlisle looked back at Jane.

"We offered her asylum in exchange for her surrender", Carlisle said calmly.

"That wasn't yours to offer", Jane spoke back.

"Why did you come?", Jane spoke loudly. When Bree didn't answer, Jane used her power on her.

"Who created you?", Jane asked

"You don't need to do that, she'll tell you anything you want to know", Esme spoke

"I know", Jane spoke cruelly

"I-I don't know", Bree said, her voice showed she was still in pain.

"Riley wouldn't tell us. He said our thoughts weren't safe", she said still in pain.

"Her name was Victoria. Perhaps you knew her", Edward said.

"Edward. If the Volturi had knowledge of Victoria, they would've stopped her. Isn't that right Jane?", Carlisle asked

"Of course", she said

"Jace", Jane said

"You can't use us like that", I said

"Oh, but we can", Jane said

"She didn't know what she was doing", Isabelle spoke

"We'll take responsibility for her", Esme said

"Give her a chance", Carlisle said

"The Volturi don't give second chances", Jane said

"Keep that in mind. Caius will be interested to know that she is still human", she said

"The date is set", Bella spoke

"Take care of her my friends", Jane said looking at Alec and me to see if we had to guts to kill her. So I took over.

"Take care of her Jace", I said

"But...", he said but I cut him off

"JACE", I yelled. I turned to look at Bree. I then mouthed 'Sorry'. I then nodded at Jace to do it now. He then used his sword and stabbed her through her chest, and she became ash. By then the Volturi started leaving. Then us shadowhunters left in silence.
