Alaina P.O.V
The Alpha doesn't answer Alette. Instead, he stares at me.
Mate!
I wince at the pain in my head when a voice that sounds oddly close to mine. I step back from my so called mate but the voice doesn't seem to like it much.
Go to him! He's our mate!
I stumble backward, nearly collapsing as the voice I'm not accustomed to gets louder.
''Alaina?'' Alette asks.
''Yeah?'' I reply.
''Are you okay?''
No! We won't be okay until we're with our mate!
''Yep.''
I notice the Alpha eyeing me warily as he takes a step closer. I have got to get out of here.
MATE! MATE! MATE!
''Shut up!'' I groan out loud.
I freeze, realizing what I've just said.
''Um, what?'' Quentin asks.
''Nothing, I have to leave.''
NO, YOU CAN'T!
I yelp as the voice screams deafeningly.
''Alaina, I think you should stay,'' Landon says cautiously.
''No, I'm leaving.''
STOP! NO!
I manage to completely ignore the voice as I try to squeeze by the Alpha.
''I'm sorry, I mean no disrespect but can I please get through?''
''No.''
I try my best not to panic as everyone stares at me, seeing how I'll respond.
''I really need to leave.''
''No, you don't,'' he growls.
Great, so I am a prisoner. I make a break for it. Knowing I can't get out the front door I try going for the back exit. Not that I have any idea where it is. I don't make it too far anyway, I suddenly feel an enjoyable shock on my arm and I'm pinned against the wall.
''I said no,'' the Alpha says in a low, haunting tone.
''Alpha, I think you should let her go,'' I hear Alette say.
He doesn't reply again. Once again, keeping his gaze on me.
''You said I wasn't a captive!'' I yell to Alette yet not breaking eye contact with the Alpha.
Who cares? He's our mate, we must stay!
''You're not! Ace, I'm begging you to let her go!''
There is no way this guy is my mate, mates are supposed to love each other, not keep each other as captives.
''It's fine, Alette. I'm used to it.''
The Alpha frowns, ''You're not a captive.''
''You're keeping me here against my will. Therefore, I'm a captive.''
''You're not a captive,'' he repeats.
''Then let me go.''
''Fine,'' he says releasing his hold on me, ''Go.''
He crosses his arms as I let out a sigh of relief, ''Thank you.''
But I can't do it, I can't move.
