Kai x Clay Ninjago/Nexo Knights (Phoenixshipping)

Departure

Kai's pov
I had a talk with Wu and he agreed to let Clay use the Crystal, he says he'll lend it to him in the evening so I guess today would be his last day here in Ninjago, I walk up to Clay asleep in my bed, he looked so cute and innocent, I shake him a bit and he wakes up "What time is it?" He asks yawning slightly "Seven am, we don't have training today" he gets up "I usually wake up at six, it's just your bed was so comfy I must have slept in!" He looks at me embarrassed, I chuckle softly "Don't worry, you're not in trouble" I say to him. He smiles at me "So what did Wu say?" He asks, "Don't worry, he said he'll let you borrow it in the evening" he hugs me "Thank you! I can go back home now!" He blushed and let go "S-sorry Kai I don't know why I did that" aww "It's ok... so... I guess this is your last day here" his smile started to fade "yeah... I mean we only just met a day ago but still..., I have to make the right decision" his face was more serious "Ok Clay, maybe we could hang out a bit today, before you leave, we still have time." His smile returned, "Sure, I guess I have some time to relax!" I grab his hand "Let's go to the carnival! Have you ever been to one before Clay?" I ask, he nods "once or twice" We take a walk through the streets and after a bit, we made it to the Monster amusement park "Things here look more... upgraded!" I hear Clay say. We look around and try out a few rides, he seemed to have his eye on a rollercoaster, but he also seemed to be glaring at a few guys in costumes. "You seem to be staring a lot at that roller coaster..." he looked at me "oh so that's what it's called? It seems interesting... and everyone seems to enjoy it... I want to try it out but..." I smirk "What's wrong Clay? Are you afraid? I understand... the roller coaster was made for brave people after all" He flinched at my tease but then regained his serious look "So it's like a test of endurance and bravery? I will surpass it!" He's so cute! I wish I could keep him! "Oh, but what if you fail?" His cheeks turn pink, either from embarrassment or anger "I'm brave! I'm a trained knight!" Let's hope he has a trained bladder unlike the others

Clay's pov
I swear Kai is challenging me! I'll show him I'm brave, I look at the others coming off the ride, some are dizzy, others seem to be vomiting, only a handful seem to have handled it "Alright Kai, I accept your challenge!" He chuckles at my reaction "Ok Clay, let's see if you can" he pets me again, I feel my cheeks heating up, why am I allowing him to do this? "Well let's go!" I hear him say, I nod and follow him to the ride. It wasn't that long but it felt great with the wind in my hair and having my friend Kai beside me, he seemed to be doing fine. After the ride we went over to a food stand, Kai and I were both dizzy but we soon got better, I hear Kai laugh slightly "Guess you did it! You are brave!" For some reason his praise seemed to have got me blushing...

Kai's pov
I pat Clay on the back "Thank you, but training has brought me here... that was fun..." I smile "I'll get us something to eat" he told me he wasn't hungry, but I went ahead and bought two cotton candies, "Here you go" He tried to decline but I insisted, he soon gave up and toke a small bite, some of it sticked to the corner of his mouth, I wiped it away but for some reason I kept my hand on his cheek and start carressing it. He starts blushing again "Hi guys!" Both of us jumped when we heard that voice, we saw it was just Lloyd "Lloyd what are you doing here?" I ask "What? Can't I come and see what my friends are up to?" He says "no there's nothing wrong with that" says Clay, I was slightly upset that my hand was no longer on Clay's cheek, it felt soft and warm. "I just want to hang out with you guys, is it ok if I do?" Lloyd asks "sure we don't mind" I reply, I give Lloyd my treat, then I shared with Clay, he let me have the first bites. We finished and continued our day, I bought them both a balloon, and spent most of my attention on the cinnamon roll, later we left the amusement park and went back to the bounty. Evening was almost here, so Clay and I talked a bit more, I did something overconfident and went ahead and carressed his cheek, he flinched and pulls my hand away "sorry..." I say to him "You are forgiven" he replies to me

Clay's pov
Guess I'm really going back... Can't wait to see everyone even though it was only a day or two, I see Wu walk towards us with a blue glowing crystal in his hands, I assume it's the realm Crystal, he hands me the Crystal and tells me how to use it. I try out the crystal and open a portal that looks like it leads back to Knighton, I give the Crystal back to Wu and walks towards the portal "Guess this is Farewell, Ninja" I see Kai walk towards me and he pulls me into a hug "Good luck with getting Jestro back" he says to me, I hug back "Thanks" he continues to talk "Maybe one day you and I can visit each other... someday..." We both let go, "sure... see you later Kai" I respond as he backs away and goes to his brothers who seem upset, but I think one of them was smiling... almost insane like. I decide not to worry about it and I jump in through the portal,  eyes closed, with my armor on, my sword and shield held tightly, ready for whatever's on the other side, I felt ground beneath me so I opened up my eyes, the portal closed and I saw Knighton... everything seemed in shape and normal... "Clay!" I hear someone shout my name, I saw Macy, Aaron and Axl running towards me at full speed then bring me into a hug "Hi guys" I say "Clay where have you been? And how did you get back?" Macy asks "C'mon guys, who knows what he had to face in that other world, he must be tired" says Aaron, they all let go, I don't expect Lance here so... yeah... I feel familiar arms wrapped around me, I saw it was my old dear friend... Jestro... he was back to normal, back to his purity, before Jestro could say anything I said "Glad to have you back my friend" he smiles and hugs me tightly... Kai's words echo through my head, maybe I could go back one day... just not today.
