Heat rose in Killua's cheeks, making them turn slightly pink as he awkwardly shook Gon's hand. "....I'm Killua Zoldyck." He mumbled but Gon didn't seem to mind. "How old are you? You look around my age! I didn't expect to see another kid here besides myself." Gon asked, keeping his smile.
Killua let go of his hand and scratched the back of his head. "I'm...15 years old.." Kurapika noticed this change in Killua, keeping a mental note while Gon's eyes widened in joy. "I'm 15 too! Wow that's really amazing! I'm sure we'll be great friends." Gon's words sent a chill down Killua's spine, and he averted his gaze downward. This caught Gon's attention and he was curious as to what was wrong, but Kurapika cut their conversation short.
"Oh um... hey Killua! I really want to see what you are capable of, so tell me what you can do." Killua looked up, giving Gon a small smile before turning to Kurapika, his expression settling to it's usual cold look. "Sure thing."
Killua had gotten a small handgun from the storage area and stood in front of his squad, all of them watching intently. He held the gun up with his mechanical arm, which Gon hadn't noticed before and wondered how he got it in the first place.
"My bullets are electric." Killua stated casually, causing everyone to gasp with confusion. "My mechanic arm here sends an electric current to any gun I use, causing the bullets to become electrically charged. They are faster, deadlier, and can even slice limbs clean off upon impact. It's a blessing and a curse." Killua demonstrated by shooting at the ground a few feet away.
Gon watched amazed, and when Killua shot the ground all he saw was a spark and then a dent in the dirt from where the bullet hit. It was so fast he couldn't fathom what he had just seen. This boy was definitely something else, something truly special.
"That was amazing! Killua you are absolutely incredible!" Heat rushed to Killua's face once again except it was a brighter red this time. "..Idiot don't say stuff that like it's embarrassing..."
"It's true though! Maybe you can teach me a thing or too."
Seeing Killua act this way made the whole team confused. He didn't seem to show Gon any hostility or coldness. It was a weird yet pleasant change.
"I do have to ask you though Killua, the mechanical arm you have shouldn't have enough power to physically make your bullets electric, you've had to had gone through a lot of electric exposure to be able to do that." Kurapika questioned. This caused Killua to stare down at the ground, crossing his arms.
"I have."
Gon noticed the pain in his voice, and wanted so desperately to know everything about Killua, but they had just met so he didn't want to pry
right away.
Kurapika didn't want to upset Killua further, so he decided to direct his attention to Gon. "So Gon, it's your turn to show me what you can do."
"Right!" Gon stated as he pulled his gaze away from Killua and sat on the floor, rubbing his chin.
"Hm let's see....Oh! I have a great sense of smell; I can track pretty much anyone with just getting a wiff of their scent. I'm also really fast when it comes to running and I have a very strong punch." Standing up, Gon clenched his fist, taking a breath before slamming it into the ground, making a hole the size of his whole body.
Everyone stared in amazement like they had done for Killua. "I know hand to hand combat won't do much in a war full of guns but it's something cool I can do."
This time it was Killua's turn stare in awe, whistling at Gon in amazement in which caused him to turn a bright shade of red. Gon was right, hand to hand combat wouldn't be much help but it was still extremely impressive, and the boy was basically a damn dog with a nose like that, extremely cute too.
"I'm also a medic so I can help out my squad! Back from where I live on Whale Island I was always outside and taught myself about which plants are useful and which plants aren't, and Leorio is teaching me more useful information about the medical field so I won't let you guys down." Gon smiled at his new squad and to Killua's surprise, they all clapped. It seemed everyone was impressed with the caramel eyed boy and his optimistic attitude, especially Killua.
He was the only one not smiling but instead staring at Gon, entranced. He even caught himself wondering about what this boys story was.
