Killua Zoldyck was trained to fight ever since he was born. His parents didn't believe in their family being weak and wanted them all to become strong enough to fight for their country.
Although, Killua's parents weren't the nicest of people, training him under very harsh conditions. These conditions were so cruel to the point where Killua had obtained a mechanical arm due to a severe injury.
Even with this disability which had actually brought him a blessing and a curse, Killua was able to excel in almost everything, making him an elite solider. He wasn't as quite as good as his brother Illumi, who was a Lieutenant in the army, but he was catching up at a quick pace.
Killua had other siblings as well, but his parents believed he showed the most promise. This caused them to be even harder on him, and by this time, they enrolled him into the army at the young age of 15, making him the youngest boy to enroll, since the drafting age was actually 18.
The pale boy didn't have a say in whether he wanted to go or not, but he didn't try to speak up to his parents, knowing he wouldn't get his way.
The only thing Killua's parents told him before they sent him off was that he was not allowed to make friends or else he'd regret it.
