Gon searched through his bag, making sure he had everything for the trip to Yorknew. All his medical supplies were in check and his gun was in its holster, even though he most likely wasn't going to be using it; he planned to be fighting up close, thanks to his improved strength and speed.

Killua had everything ready as well and the two of them sat on the truck, waiting for the rest of their squad.

Once everyone was on, the truck took off to Yorknew, which actually wasn't too far from their base.

Kurapika stood up and cleared his throat. "So this is the second battle we are going into and we may have been successful last time, but we did lose a member of our squad. I cannot stress enough how much each of you needs to be careful, and if you hear me call for a retreat or anything else, you better listen or it may cost you your life." Everyone nodded in agreement, Gon and Killua also.

Soon enough the truck came to a stop on the outskirts of Yorknew City. Seems they got there right on time too, for other trucks had pulled up not too long after.

Everyone started unloading their things quickly, wanting to head into the city before the chimera soldiers noticed their presence.

Kurapika looked over to the other captains, nodding to them to signal that it was time to move in.

At once, everyone advanced towards the city. Gon and Killua at the very front since they were the fastest, passing everyone with ease.

They arrived in Bull Market, spotting chimera soldiers reeking havoc on the City.

Citizens ran around in a panicked frenzy, trying to escape. While some corpses of innocent people littered the ground.

Gon seemed particularly angry about this, dashing to a group of chimera soldiers and punching them so hard they died upon impact.

He was certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Killua got out his gun and shot a few of chimera soldiers, since there were too many for Gon to handle on his own.

They seemed to be a good team, Killua shooting his electric bullets from afar while Gon fought up close.

All was going well so far, until Killua spotted something in the road, or rather someone. There was a little boy running down the street, no parents in sight.

His skin was a light tan and glowed, even through the dust, and his eyes were sharp in shape and golden in color.

His messy black and white hair kept getting in his face as he ran, and he'd use his small hands to try to push it out of the way.

For some reason, Killua felt obligated to help this poor kid.

Jumping from the building he was currently residing in, Killua dashed in the direction of the child, scooping him up in his arms once he was in close enough range.

Once the child was in his care, Killua ran into the Beitacle Hotel, since it was close, to keep the young boy safe.

The boy punched and kicked at Killua until he was finally released, running behind a dirtied couch, full of rubble from earlier explosions.

Sighing, Killua sat cross legged, not wanting to scare the young boy away. "You know you should be thankful I saved your life kid! Besides where are your parents anyway? I'm sure they are worried sick about you." Killua scoffed, crossing his arms.

The boy poked his head out from behind the couch, still feeling a little hesitant with the new stranger. "P-p-parents..? I don't have any of those anymore, I've been alone ever since I was four." He held up four fingers to indicate the age.

A homeless kid, abandoned this young, and Killua thought he had a rough life. He was about to question the boy further when he noticed blood dripping from his small arm. "You're hurt." Killua pointed at the boys arm.

Looking at his arm, the boy looked surprised. "Oh! I didn't even feel it." He smiled brightly, which was astonishing for the current situation they were in.

"I have a friend who can help so just stay right there yeah?" Killua headed towards the entrance but looked back at the boy. "Oh and what's your name? Im Killua."

Sitting on the ground criss crossed, the child looked back up at Killua, feeling more comfortable with him now. "I'm Val!"
