Speeding down the destroyed road, Gon and Killua searched around for anything worth noticing.

When they realized that nothing was around, they stopped in the middle of the city.

"Should we head back? It doesn't seem any other chimera soldiers are around here. It's weird how fast they disappeared though, don't you think?" Gon asked.

"Yeah it is weird, but we shouldn't worry about it, let's head b-"

Killua was cut off mid-sentence by the ground suddenly starting to tremble.

Gon was awfully confused by this, turning to his white haired friend for possible answers. "Killua? What's going on? Is it an earthquake?!"

This strange occurrence confused Killua as well, but then he looked down the road in front of them, seeing what was causing the ground to shake.

It was a large horde of chimera soldiers, marching in their direction.

Killua immediately pushed Gon behind a nearby pile of rubble, going behind the small pile as well.

"Wait! Killua! What's going o-"

Killua threw his hand over Gon's mouth, speaking fast and quietly, though the caramel eyed boy could still comprehend what he was saying.

"Listen, I know we agreed that you would be the one to protect me when we played rock, paper, scissors that one time but......I can't let this happen. You need to survive, Gon."

The loud footsteps of the chimera soldiers were getting closer. Although, Gon kept his attention on the boy in front of him, his eyes widening in fear, but not because of the advancing soldiers; it was because of what Killua was saying all of a sudden.

"I also know there have been weird things between us, but Val made me finally realize what it is........I love you Gon Freecss, more than anyone; please take care of Val. Don't worry about me, I trained for this."

As Killua finished, he placed a gentle kiss on top of Gon's forehead. "I'm sorry." Was the last thing Gon heard Killua say before he lifting his free hand and slammed it down onto the back of Gon's head, causing him to pass out.

Moving quickly, Killua set Gon down gently, lifting a nearby corpse to place on top of Gon so the chimera soldiers wouldn't see him breathing; if they did, they'd know he was alive.

As the chimera soldiers got even closer to them, Killua stepped out from behind the rubble, holding his hands up in surrender.

All of the chimera soldiers stopped at once, staring at the young boy who decided to present his location.

They looked to each other in confusion, speaking about the current situation.

"What are we supposed to do with him? He wouldn't make a good hostage." One solider asked to nobody in particular.

"Wait! Look! He's wearing a military uniform; he must be in the army! But he's so young!" Another solider had added in.

Eventually, some sort of chimera lieutenant came forward, observing Killua.

"You must have impressive skill if you are in the army at such a young age. In that case you must be very valuable; perfect hostage material."

Killua remained silent, still holding his hands up as he stared at the strange lion hybrid in front of him.

"Looks like we are done here then, no need to gather other hostages; he's all we need." The chimera lieutenant stated.

Two of the animal soldiers stepped forward, each grabbing one of Killua's arms.

The chimera army started to head back to their jets and cargo planes, taking Killua with them.
