Indi's POV
(Song REQUIREMENT 😉 - I Wanna Be Yours... especially toward the end)
Alex smiled at me darkly from my bed, lying on his side with his head propped up on his hand.
I'd turned all the lights off in my room, besides the string of copper lights that wrapped around my headboard. Everything was lit in their dim glow, including Alex's leering eyes.
"Shall we begin?" he said in a slow voice.
I swallowed hard, my finger lingering over the play button.
Was I ready for this? Probably not. But I pressed play anyways, because if I didn't listen to it now, then I probably never would.
Alex moved over slightly on the bed, creating a spot for me, but I chose to sit in my desk chair instead. This was going to be difficult as is, so staying as far away from his overt sex appeal was definitely for my own good.
The drums came in on the first track. We stared at each other from across the room as he mouthed the first words as they drifted out of the speaker.
"Have you got color in your cheeks?"
Of fucking course this was the first song.
And the way he was singing it to me, with his dark hair tumbling into his tempting eyes, made my skin feel like it was on fire.
But I knew it would only get harder from here. So I stuck it out, trying my hardest to pretend that each lyric wasn't hitting me like a ton of bricks.
The next track was a bit easier. Is was louder and a lot less sexy, even though it was still incredibly provocative.
Especially when he looked straight at me and sang, "R U Mine?"
The next one was called "One for the Road". It was a bit slower and had a subtle sultriness about it. It didn't stick out as much, but there was something about it that drew me to it. Especially the part where he said, "So we all go back to yours, and you sit and talk to me on the floor."
"I was talking about the night in the cabin bathroom," he called out from my bed right as that part played. "But 'yours' rhymes with 'floor' way better than 'we all go back to the cabin and you sit and talk to me on the floor'".
I laughed. "Or you wrote it about one of your other girls."
He smirked wickedly and I don't think I'd ever seen him look more attractive than he did right then.
Fuck. This was harder than I thought it would be.
I looked away from him, desperately trying to focus on the music and not think about how his eyes were burning into me.
"Arabella" sounded a lot different than what I'd expected when I read the lyrics in the notebook. But I liked it. Loved it, actually. It was a bit trippy and had a vibe to it that I couldn't really explain. But it was one of my favorites.
"I Want It All" was another great one, and I loved the guitar, but I couldn't really understand what he was saying for most of it. I'd have to look up the lyrics in the notebook later. I could have done it then, but I just wanted to listen.
But shit started to get real when "No. 1 Party Anthem" played. It was obviously written about our night in the club. It was slower and had a 1950's high school prom band sound to it that I loved.
And the way the music changed when he sang "The look of love, the rush of blood, the 'she's with me', the Gallic shrug," nearly fucking killed me.
