Diana's POV
The air feels humid and wet on my fur as I run for who knows how far.
'I just need to run off some steam.' I tell my wolf as she whimpers.
'Di, I feel really bad! I know you're angry but do you remember what happened the last time we went for a run without mate's permission?'
As angry as I was, I couldn't help but agree. I mean, a she-wolf with an Alpha's scent and Alpha blood running in the forest -- alone may I add -- is like putting a hundred dollar bill in front of a homeless person. It's just too tempting to other males. But this wouldn't be interesting if I just played it smart and went home, would it? So, all safe thoughts aside, I ignored my wolf's protests and kept running into no man's land.
'Who cares? He was rude to us and called us his property! Aren't you angry about that? Oh wait, I forgot...you're always on Pierce's side!'
I could feel her anger starting to snap in the belly of my conscience.
'What is wrong with you today? Why are you always like this? The Moon Goddess gives you another chance and all you do is throw it away like trash and go back to your old ways after one day!'
'You don't know what I'm going through.'
No one does Diana! What I do know is that you always complain, and never tell anyone about it so we can't help you! I want to talk to you, but you won't let me.'
I shut her out, knowing she'd be angry.
I could hear wolves in the back of me and I knew Pierce sent a bunch of his men to find me. I needed to get out of here, and there's no way I can out-run them.
I sighed and dropped to the ground, shifting in the process. When I was back to my normal self, I grabbed the t-shirt and jeans that I had carried with me in my mouth this whole time and put them on. Then I started to make progress climbing a tall tree.
"They may be faster, but I am surely smarter." I said to myself while yanking my body up to a higher branch.
I could practically feel Pierce's worry and I took a moment to ask myself if he was the reason I was doing this. In all honesty, he really wasn't. I had always suffered from anxiety due to my years as a pack slave. This means that when things get to be too much, I just need time alone.
I got about 30 feet high in the tree and situated myself so I wasn't going to fall.
"You're going to have to go back eventually."
The Moon Goddess whispers in my ear.
I nod at nothing because I know she is watching.
I just need time...

Pierce's POV
The panic that wells up inside me is more than any Alpha would like to admit. I immediately feel bad for what I said when Diana runs away and I also immediately send my men out to look for her. I know the last person she'll want to see is me right now so I stay home and plan yet another apology.
------
Rick's POV
"Get me my soup Erin!" The sound of my beer bottle hitting the ground and the sight of my servant running away from me is very pleasurable.
The foul stench of the dungeons still remains glued to me from my visit earlier. I am deeply frustrated by the stupidity of my other slave's decision to run away, who told her she could make a decision for herself!? I make all the decisions around here.
I go back to reading my magazine while Erin gets me my food. Oh the slowness of that girl!
"Erin!"
"Yes Alpha?"
"Lets hurry it up, I'm feeling extra nice today! Don't ruin that for me."
"Yes sir! Be right there sir!"
My beta walks up to me and bows.
"What did I tell you about looking me in the eyes Ferrell?"
"I apologize Alpha."
"What do you need?" I ask impatiently.
"Two things sir. First, the shipments from the other raids are coming in today."
"Earlier than expected...perfect! What's the other thing?"
"We've found the girl."
I grin evilly, "Show me."

Diana's POV
After about half an hour of sitting on the rough bark of the tree, I get uncomfortable so I start to get down.
The soft pounding of wolf paws gets louder and I know I'm in for a treat.
I jump to the forest floor and stand my ground, waiting for them to come to a stop in front of me.
"Hello boys."
"Luna, you need to come with us back to the pack house."
I look at my nails for dramatic effect, "What makes you think that's going to happen?"
"Ma'am the Alpha wants you to be safe."
"Fine, but I need to be left alone for at least two hours when we get back. You can deliver that little message to your Alpha."
I get on the back of the wolf talking and hold tight. On the ride home, I am so tired that I can't help but fall asleep.

Pierce's POV
I wait for my mate to get home in the living room. When she gets home I will take her to dinner and we can have a long talk about this. I want to figure things out with her. I just want her to be mine.
The phone rings and catches me by surprise. I go to pick it up and when I do, there is heavy breathing on the other line.
"Hello? Can I help you?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact you can," the voice on the other line is scratchy and rude, I debate hanging up the phone, "my name is Rick -- Alpha Rick to you -- and I am looking for Diana Rochester... your mate?"
Sorry for the dramatic cliffhanger and not writing in awhile, I just got done with a musical...Comment, Vote, and Share with your friends if you like! Thanks for reading!
Love you guys,
