KURT'S POV

"You gave up?? That fast??"

I didn't answer Alex's question instead I let out a deep sigh. Si Alex agad ang una kong kinausap tungkol dito. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. Talagang magaan lang talaga ang loob ko sa kanya. Naalala ko na naman ang nangyari kahapon. Crystal left me at the inn, without even bidding goodbye to me. Wala na nga talaga siyang pakialam sa akin.

"Kurt," Alex stepped beside me while leaning on the railings of the veranda, staring at the sight infront of us. "Whatever happened to your guts?"

"Guts?" I asked blankly.

"Oo. Dati, ang lakas ng loob mong lapit-lapitan si Gail kahit alam mong nabubwsit siya sayo. Oo, mas kumplikado ang sitwasyon niyo ngayon kumpara dati pero diba dapat kailangan mong MAS lakasan pa ang loob mo ngayon? You can't give up just like that."

I'm giving up... That's what I said to myself.

I smiled weakly and then shrugged my shoulders. "I just did. Ayaw na niya sa akin. Ano pang magagawa ko?"

"Ano pang magagawa mo? Intindihin mo siya. Pagod ka na ba, Kurt?"

"Of course not," I turned around and headed inside my unit. I went straight to my fridge and got something to drink.

"Then, don't give her up. Win her back instead. Hindi mo ba siya mahal?" He said after me.

That made me stop on my track. Tinitigan ko lang siya ng seryoso at nagbuntong-hininga. "Mahal ko siya."

He was about to spill off his words when I cut him off...

"... Pero tama siya. Hahayaan ko nalang siyang sumaya. Sa tingin ko, hindi ko talaga kayang ibigay yun sa kanya."

He stared at me for a moment, visibly concern about me. I smiled away and managed to laugh to ease the blue.

"I'll be more than fine if I see her smile again. Makita ko lang siyang masaya, kuntento na ako." I gulped my beer and turned my back on him. "Tara, uminom nalang tayo, Alex."

I know I can get over with this misery in time. Letting go is the only best thing I could do...

The next morning, I woke up with a heavy head. Marami yata akong nainom kagabi. I got up from bed, headed to the kitchen and suited myself with a coffee. Lumipat ako sa living room at binuksan ang Plasma TV ko. But fate sucks because as soon it turned on, Crystal's beautiful face appeared through it.

"D-amn."

Pinatay ko kaagad ang TV at napailing nalang ng ulo. Paano ko siya makakalimutan kung panay ganito ang nangyayari? Minutes later, I felt something down at my feet. I smiled as I saw Babes and Loves looking up at me with those cute pair of eyes. They're the only ones who can make me smile at times like this.

"Gutom na kayo?"

Silly may it seemed, but I really find it comfortable talking to my pets. Sa ilang buwan na mag-isa ako dito, sila lang talaga ang nagpabuhay ng unit na ito.

Pinakain ko muna sila ng dog food bago ako naligo at lumabas ng unit. I think I've scattered my brains somewhere. Ni hindi ko naalala na wala na akong food storage. So, here I am, decided to get out of my cave, spinning my keys on my finger when suddenly a woman blocked my pace. I automatically winced at her presence.

"K..Kurt..."

I stopped for some seconds, looked at her blankly and then walked passed her. Ilang araw na ba niya akong kinukulit? At ilang araw ko na rin siyang iniiwasan? D-amn, how can I pull her out of my life!?
