[43.2] KNOWING HIM BETTER

GAIL'S POV

"This bed played a best part of my puberty stage..." He said, smirking down.

I released a breath and looked away. "Then, good for you. Pwedeng change topic na?" Because for me, you're giving me goosebumps. Err.

Narinig ko na tumawa siya ng mahina, yung tipong nang-aasar pa. Naramdaman ko nalang na lumubog na yung kama, kaya napatayo ako. Si Fifth, ayun dumapa na at niyakap ang makipot na kama.

"Fifth, 'wag mong sabihing dyan ka matutulog? Aba, alis." Medyo sinipa-sipa ko pa yung kama. There's no way of letting me sleep on the couch nor on the floor.

"Wait lang. Pahiga lang. Namiss ko 'tong kama ko," he said sleepily.

Halata nga na namimiss niya ang kama niya. This bed played a best part of his puberty life nga naman diba? Umupo nalang ako dun sa silya ng study table at pinagmasdan siya. Why all of a sudden did he visit here?

"Fifth..."

"Oh?"

Napasimangot ako kasi yung boses niya parang natutulog na talaga. "Uy, Fifth! Dyan ako ah?"

"Oo, dun ako sa labas matutulog."

Naks. Napangiti naman ako dun. I didn't tell him to sleep outside. Aba't willing siya? Mayamaya lang ay bumangon na siya at bahagyang inayos ang nagulo niyang buhok. "I'm sleepy. Goodnight, Crystal."

I watched him go and a part of me told me not to let him. "Fifth!"

He stopped and turned to me. Palabas na siya ng pinto. "What?"

Pa'no ko ba sasabihin 'to? Na 'wag nalang siyang matulog sa labas. Na okay lang naman na dito siya matulog sa kwarto, basta dun lang sa couch. Kawawa naman eh. Laking-ibang bansa tapos papatulugin ko sa sala? At saka... Parehas kaming bisita dito.

"Y...you can sleep here," I smiled assuringly.

He blinked twice and looked away. He got a hold of the doorbell before he spoke. "Sure? I can sleep outside... in the living room or even in the terrace eventhough it's kinda cold. I'm used to get sick and the mosquitoes? I'm friends with them."

Okay lang? Eh bakit parang nangongonsensya siya? LOL. "Okay lang. Basta dun ka sa couch at off limits lang dito sa kama."

He looked back to me. "Sure?"

I smiled warmly. "Sure."

Right after I said it, he stepped out of the room and returned after a few minutes, with mat, pillow and a blanket on his grip. Nagtaka ako nung ilatag niya yung banig sa sahig, sa right side ng kama ko.

"Uy, ba't dyan ka?" I asked and then pointed a finger at the couch's direction. "Dun ka nalang sa couch."

Humiga siya sa banig paharap sa direction ko habang yakap-yakap yung isang unan niya. Wow, he suited himself on that little mat just like that? In fairness, walang arte.

"Ano yun? Ikaw lang natatamaan ng electric fan? At saka, malaki akong tao, Crystal. Hindi ako kasya sa couch na yun," sabi niya.

"Bahala ka." Umalis muna ako sa pagkakaupo sa silya, saka ako kumuha ng damit pamalit mula sa backpack ko. Nagfreshen up muna ako sa bathroom kasi medyo malagkit yung pakiramdam ko. Bumyahe ba naman ako e. Medyo hassle nga lang kasi walang shower ang bathroom at ang tanging gamit lang ay balde, tabo at gripo.
