[54] ENDEARMENT

 

GAIL'S POV

Matapos kong makita ang secretary ng Vice President ng Marketing sa mall, sumabog agad ang balita sa iba't-ibang department or let's say sa buong building na dine-date ni Kurt ang secretary niya.

Hindi ko na nga matandaan kung ilang araw o weeks na ang nakalipas nung araw na nakita ko si Crystal sa mall. Since then, lagi nalang siyang visible sa iba't-ibang sulok ng building. Others said that she's friendly. Halos kinakaibigan niya ang lahat. Kung minsan nga ay nagdadala pa siya ng lutong-bahay sa department namin. But I didn't taste any of the food she brought here. Kahit na nagkakagulo pa ang mga teammates ko sa luto niya ay niyayaya ko si Fifth na kumain nalang sa labas.

Inaamin ko. Hindi ko siya gusto. Siguro kasi simula nung dumating siya sa kumpanya na ito ay naging 'darling of the crowd' na siya and I really hate it. Nagtrabaho ba siya dito para magpacute? Tss.

"Hintayin nalang kita dito, Crystal."

Napangiwi nalang ako nung marinig ko ang tawag sa akin ni Fifth. Mas lalo akong naiinis tuwing tinatawag ako sa pangalan kong Crystal. Ugh.

"Fifth, favor?"

Hinawi niya ang ilang hibla ng buhok na humaharang sa mukha ko. "What's it?"

"Can you please stop calling me Crystal?"

Ngumuso siya at nagtaas ng isang kilay. "Why? I told you I like calling you that way."

"But I don't like it, okay?"

He frowned and pinched my left cheek. "Basta Crystal pa rin." Ang kulit! "Pumasok ka na sa loob. Hihintayin kita dito."

Padabog akong pumasok sa loob ng restroom. Ayoko talaga sa tuwing tinatawag akong Crystal. I felt like I am not the one who is being called. Parang ibang tao. Hindi ako. Nakakainis! Napakairitable ko ngayon. Argh!

 

KURT'S POV

"Kurt, pwede na bang umalis?"

I nodded my head while closing my laptop. I don't have anything to work on so I guess I'll just go home.

"Uuwi ka na rin ba? Sabay na tayo pababa?" She asked. I just nodded and fixed my things while she waited for me.

I found out that her real name is Crystal and that she wasn't lying about herself. She was a fresh-graduate of Computer secreterial. As weeks went by, I discovered that she was really like the old Crystal--- my ex-fiancee. She would make me a cup of coffee everyday, talk a lot about random things, funny at times, and a sweet girl.

Rumors have spreaded all over the building about me dating my secretary which is Crystal and we just both laughed it off, because first of all, it wasn't really true. We just have this close working relationship and people got us wrong about it.

Maybe once, yeah, I asked her on a date but that was not a romantic one after all. I treat her as my younger sister and I bet he's treating me like his big brother.

Besides, we both have a deal to do and only the two of us know what it is all about.

"Ano na, Kurt? Pakibilis na."

"Just wait," I murmured and got all of my stuff. I headed for the door with her on my side. I didn't even remember when she became like this to me. I mean, in terms of talking to me. Oh well, maybe she's just that too comfortable with me around. I even told her to stop calling me 'Sir' since I am not comfortable to be called that way. 'Kuya' or 'Kurt' will do, but he insisted to call me the latter.
