GAIL'S POV

"I'm sick. I can't make it, sorry. Bye," I ended up the call and immediately curled myself on bed. Sh-it!!! Ang sakit ng puson ko. "Ugggghh!!"

This is what I hate about being a girl. You suffer a lot from pain even physically and then you'll get hurt by just a f-king guy pa. Kainis! Dapat talaga special treatment ang mga babae eh. Samantalang ang lalaki, puro pasarap lang. Sino pang nagluluwal ng bata? Diba ang mga babae?

Wait up. Why am I thinking this way?

"Ugh, sh-it! Sakit! Huhuhu! Tama na, please," I rolled over the bed repeatedly. Medyo naluluha na ako sa sobrang sakit. I couldn't even get up from bed. Gosh, it's killing me.

Knock knock knock...

I took in a deep breath before looking up at the door. "Come... in!!"

Bumukas ang pinto pero nanatili lang si Fifth na nakatayo sa pintuan. "Aren't you going to work, Crystal? It's past 10AM already."

I rolled my eyes as well as curled my body even more. "I'm in pain."

"Bakit?" Pumasok siya at lumapit sa akin. Medyo natawa pa nga siya sa hindi ko malamang dahilan. "Red bedsheet? Kwarto ba 'to ng anak ni Dracula?"

I frowned and opted to give him a kick but I can't. I just cant! Masakit talaga at nakakapanghina ito.

"Masakit ang puson ko. Hindi ako papasok! Already called in sick."

He sat down the floor and stared at me for awhile. Nakasuot na siya ng printed shirt at shorts na matino. That's better than before.

"Ba't masakit? Baka gutom ka?"

"Tch. I've monthly period!" I seethed.

His eyes rounded in surprise. Medyo napaatras pa nga siya sa sinabi ko. "Are you serious?"

"Mukha ba akong nagjojoke time? You wouldn't know how I feel right now because you're a boy!" I gasped again after I felt that sharp pain in my lower abdomen. Kainis! I don't wanna feel this kind of pain. It let me remember something horrible in the past.

"Of course I knew about that. My mom's a girl, right?"

I rolled my eyes. Alam kong awkward ang usapin na ito dahil newly found friend ko pa lang si Fifth and not to mention, he's a guy! But what will I do? Naabutan niya ako sa ganitong estado. Hindi naman siguro maiiwasan ang ganito dahil nasa iisang bubong lang kami.

"Ano'ng gagawin ko? Hot compress?"

I nodded and closed my eyes. "Yes, please."

Lumabas siya ng kwarto at ilang saglit lang ay bumalik na rin siya dala-dala ang isang glass bottled water na nakabalot pa sa face towel.

"Oh, ipatong mo."

I did what I was told. I moved sideways, facing him. Medyo mainit ang bote, pero kailangan ko 'tong tiisin kahit na napapaso ako. "Thanks, Fifth."

"I used to nurse my mom when she's suffering from dysmenorhea before," he explained and sat down on the floor--- Indian sit position. "Galit ka pa rin ba sa akin?"

Medyo nagulat ako sa sudden question niya. Siguro, ang tinutukoy niya ay yung nangyari kahapon. Hindi naman ako galit eh. Naiinis lang naman ako. Pwede naman akong tumanggi sa dinner na yun, pero dahil sa pag-oo niya ay napasama pa tuloy kami sa magkapatid na Lee. Tsk.

"I was just annoyed, Fifth. Ayoko silang makasama pero umoo ka pa rin."

He eyed me with those innocent set of eyes. "How come? They kinda' look nice, don't they?"
