Chapter 1

Right, so now that Viola and I have been saved by the maniac aliens trying to take over the world or god knows what, what do we do next? Kinzie probably already has some sort of genius plan to save the world. I walk slowly to Viola, unsure of what I should say. "That was some crazy stuff back there, huh?" She seemed pretty shocked. All she did was a slight nod to me. "Just know, I'm here for you if you need someone to talk to. Remember, I was there with you!" I playfully shoved her, and decided to leave her alone. She looked like she wanted a little bit of solitude.

"Hey, boss! What are you up to?" I decided to check with everyone to see if they had anything useful. "Nothing much I'm afraid, Shaundi. We haven't been able to get much about Zinyak, or the Zin, for that matter. It's all just a giant puzzle." "Oh.. Need any help with anything?" I asked, trying to be helpful for the first time in my life. I wanted, no, needed revenge on Zinyak. Just a little guess, but I think he's the one that sent creatures with freaking horns to capture Viola and me. What did he want with us anyways? I mean, Viola, don't take any offense to this, but we don't really do anything. Where did he even come from anyways? What two creatures did that thing come out of? And how did he make all his little "children?" Okay, my mind is just getting a little weird.  "Helloooo? Shaundi? Wake up!" I snapped back to reality, realizing that I was once again drowning in my own thoughts, trying to make sense of this whole mess. "Right, Kinzie. Sorry." I hopped along to the car park, starting up my purple torch. I sped to Kinzie's little womancave where she does god knows what.

This was the first time I had ever been there. She may not seem like it on the outside, but she was a big slob-stalker on the inside. There were empty chip bags and used tissues all over the place.. I kid you not, there was a strand of fried chicken hanging from the ceiling. She had video cameras set up on a whole wall just of Viola's bedroom. What the hell, Kinzie? I'll not go into too much detail of what she possesses.. let's just say it's pretty weird. "What's all this, Kinzie?" I asked with a smirk on my face. She blushed furiously. "Oh! That's... um.. Th-th-that's  nothing I.. ah.. umm... had a uh.. r-roommate whoooo... um.. just m-m-m-moved out r-recently and forgot his stuff...." She put emphasis on the "his." I burst into laughter. She glowered at me from behind her white laptop, which was reflecting onto her glasses. Alright, I was done teasing her.. But that didn't mean I stopped laughing.

I was sniggering quite a bit while asking her what she might need help with. I could tell she was pissed. I would be, too. But then again, I wouldn't have what she has! She had quite the attitude while talking to me. "So Kinzie, need any help?" As you'll soon be able to tell, she wasn't very good with the whole sassy attitude comeback thing. "Why, you sucking up again, you little suck.. upper?!" I snorted. "Yeah, sure. Gimme something, Kinzie. I'm bored." "Whatever. Just know that I'm only doing this because I don't want to get in trouble with the boss, not because I care about you or whatever. Okay?" "Whatever, Kinzie." I reply sarcastically.

She sends me to do work on some sort of magic data whisp, or "data cluster," as she had constantly reminded me. Well, I'm not the best at explaining things, but I'll try to, for the sake of the story. This is going to sound crazy, but then again, it already does. This is a story about aliens, what did you expect? Anyways, they're these little blue floating cylinders, but they're open on the inside. Translucent would be a good word for it, I think. All I have to do for Kinzie is walk into them. It's really quite simple. Apparently, the boss gets powers from this.

Well, it was getting lonely, so I thought I had given Viola enough time and decided to call her. "Hey what are you up to? I haven't spoken to you in a while," I said. There was a hint of worry in my voice. She giggled back at me. "Oh Shaundi, you don't have to worry about me. I'm fine. Anyways, I'm not doing much, why?" I smiled a little. "Well, Kinzie sent me on this mundane mission to contribute to her saving of the world.. wanna join in?" I could tell Viola was smiling from the way she talked... I hope that's not creepy. "Sure, why not. Location?"

Viola joined me shortly after on the corner of the street. "Hey!" I called out. She was wearing the usual dark turtle neck, pencil skirt with the star hanging off it, knee high boots, and don't forget her white glasses. Or purple, depending on how she felt.

"So.. Kinzie said it should be around here somewhere. She said she'd tell us when we were close," I announced unenthusiastically. Viola huffed and rolled her eyes. "Come on, Shaundi. You can't really have expected to call me up and have me do something that Kinzie Kenzington wanted you to do. Let's do something fun!" I stared at her in disbelief. "Hello? Earth to Viola? We're in the middle of like an alien apocalypse or something! We can at least try to do something productive. And if you still really want to, we can do whatever you want to.. afterwards.

We always got very easily angry with each other, but we were like siblings and we always got past it.

She sighed. "What ever you say, boss.." I pretended not to hear what she said. If I responded, she'd only get more mad than she usually did. We were both still pretty sensitive from that night. I changed my mind and decided to let up a little. "You know what? We've been working pretty hard lately. Alright, screw it. What do you want to do?"
