The Powers

Chapter 5

The boss stared at her surroundings in awe. Even though all it was was a small open space on the top of a high building, she was surprised it actually worked. There were a few buildings lined up a few meters away from each other, each time going up in height and distance.

"I'm just gonna take a guess right here right now and assume that I jump across those? Oh and uh.. I have a question," she said. Kinzie nodded and asked in her squeaky little nerd voice, "Yes, boss?" . "Are you freaking crazy?!?! I'm not jumping across buildings! Are you trying to kill me?"

Kinzie rolled her eyes. "Trust me boss, it's fine. As I said, I've been doing research and I've figured out how to determine what you can do now. Apparantly, you can now sprint at high speeds and jump at great hights. And don't worry; I don't think you'll die- it's just a training program." "And are you 100% sure this will work?" said the boss, unsure. "Yes..." It sounded more like a question.

The boss strutted over to the back edge of the building, muttered to herself, "I can't believe I'm doing this," and started sprinting as fast as she could. At first, nothing happened and she hesitated. Then a sort of blue started building up underneath her. Her speed increased with each second gone by She charged up her super jump and glowed a majestic purple colour. Then she let it all out and leaped to the building.

Eventually she came to a building that was too high for even her super jump to handle. "How am I supposed to get over this?"

Kinzie rolled her eyes and huffed as if we were all supposed to know everything about it. "You can jump multiple times to get to higher ledges. Duh." I think the boss was beginning to have enough of Kinzie too, because I'm pretty sure I heard the words, "Kinzie if I ever get back I'm gonna murder you," indistinctly coming from her mouth. I nudged Viola. "Hey, you hear that? Boss sides with us!" she gave a little giggle.

Still a little new to it, the boss swerved a little and almost fell off of the building. "Jesus... Kinzie what happens if I fall of?" "Oh. My. God. Listen to me. I told you to trust me, that you wouldn't die. Kay? You're not gonna fall off. Just go!"

The boss took a deap breath and jumped. Her feet landed perfectly against the brick wall. She pushed off again and was launched up once again. When she made it to the top, she pumped her fists up in accomplishment. 

As soon as she was finished the pink swirly thing came back and sucked her up again.
