Reborn (loosely based on comic book canon)

Asgard was at war, as always the warriors of the realm marched into battle, their return slim. Surter's forces were strong and they outnumbered the Asgardian's ten times over. 'Fight valiantly my friends. It is not over until one side is defeated!' She called to her lower ranks and friends alike before they charged. 'If necessary give your life for your home! You will be honoured in Valhalla! For Asgard!' She cried before charging into battle on horseback. She dismounted very soon after and slayed many with anger and rage. It is what drove her onwards, made her fight tougher than before, she was unafraid of her ruthlessness. 'Lady Sif!' She heard the panicked voice of Volstagg behind her, he was completely surrounded. She turned to make her way over but before she reached him a blade appeared through her chest. She froze and looked down at it, her blood covered it. She threw her own blade out behind her and penetrated the culprit. As she fell to the ground dying he withdrew his sword from her chest. She collapsed, spluttering blood and gasping for air. She fell to the ground, the clinking of swords as the last sound she will ever hear. She took a final painful breath and closed her eyes, slipping from this plain.

Sif's death had rocked the realm. They took comfort in the fact she had died fighting for her homeland and she would be remembered as the one of the greatest warriors this realm has ever known. 'Father she lives I know it.' Thor and Loki stood before their father, Loki wore a cunning smirk, whilst Thor's face was worn. 'My son, her body lies within the ground. She is gone from us.' Loki rested a hand on his brother's shoulder as they walked from the room. 'If it makes you feels better her body isn't actually in the ground. It's in her chambers. I may have taken it for a spin, scared the children.' Thor threw his brother against the wall. 'Do you have no respect brother?! Using a dead warrior's body for your own amusement!' Loki laughed. 'But don't you want to see her walking around? I can make that happen.' 'You know I do but not within you possessing her.' He stormed away, sickened by his brother's behaviour. Weeks passed and Thor had gone to Midgard. Loki stood above Sif's persevered body and laughed. 'He will never find you in that woman's body...you will die again with her. But this time you will be gone for good.' He laughed harder. He did this for days, taunting her defenceless for in the hopes her soul could hear him from Midgard. He visited one evening and he watched her body disappear before his eyes. 'No...' He ran from the room and towards the main gates of Asgard. There, angry and tired, stood a very much alive Lady Sif. Thor, just as thunderous, beside her. 'After you.' He said grimly. Sif launched herself forward and her fist collided with Loki's face. He fell to the floor where she stood upon his neck. 'You foul being! I will not rest until you are severely punished for this!'

Loki smirks and laughed beneath her. 'Lady Sif, you live I see.' His eyes locked onto hers. 'I merely-' he began. 'Concealed her from us so we almost lost her again!' Thor's thunderous voice boomed angrily at him. Loki shrugged. 'Well...yes. Wasn't it fun?' She pressed her foot tighter on his neck in anger. 'Fun? I would rather have stayed dead! Live in honour on Valhalla!' Loki smirked again. 'I can make that happen.' Thor moved Sif aside and picked his brother up by the scruff of his neck. 'Touch her and I will kill you myself!' Sif swore she saw loki flinch but his face remained perfectly straight. Sif looked beyond them saw three figures emerge from the other side of the gates. She smiled. 'Sif?!' Fandral ran to her and wrapped his arms around her, picking her up from the ground. 'We thought you gone for forever!' He laughed in relief as he placed her down. 'Me? You can not get rid of me so easy. Just ask the trickster.' She gestured to Loki and Thor behind her. She hugged Hogun and Volstagg in turn. 'What is happening there?' Volstagg asked, his tone not surprised by the showdown. Sif filled them in on the events, each of their faces grew dark and anger flickered in their eyes. 'He really is the limit.' Fandral spat. Sif smirked. 'He has no limits.' She scorned as Thor dragged him to them. Loki noticed the expressions on their faces and rolled his eyes. 'Why must you all turn on me at once? It gives me a headache.' He said coolly with a hint of annoyance. The five of them marched Loki back to the castle ignoring his sly comments. 'Is there a line for my death? Because I would like to know who will attempt first.' He said with no fear as though he felt none of them would do it. 'Shut up Loki!' Sif hissed as she walked beside him. 'Well you could have come back a little friendlier. Cold souls do not change it seems.' He glanced to her, his usual smirk on his face. She threw up her elbow and struck his face, making him stagger backwards, Thor almost lost his grip on him. They all looked to her shocked but impressed. 'Then I suppose you won't change either.' She seethed as she turned on the spot and entered the palace, the warriors three hot on her heels. People looked in awe at her, some bowed as she walked past, smiles on their faces. Fandral took great pleasure in telling everyone they passed that she had been reborn and lived once more. A feast was held later that night to celebrate, all but one were in attendance. Loki had been scorned by his own mother and was sentenced to three months in the cells for his actions. Sif smiled triumphant at the news but she knew as well as he did that it wouldn't be the end, she would get revenge and when she did he would wish he was in Hel.
