IW Spoilers. Based off the aftermath of IW and features a storyline with a Frigga RPer friend of mine.

A heavy feeling filled her as she stood frozen on the spot, her eyes gazing down at her fingers, her eyes wide open. Something was happening to her or at least about to, her fingers felt numb and tingly.

"What in the name of Odin?" She gasped as her fingers began to crumble before her eyes, accelerating as it travelled up her arms. "Nay..." She whispered, closing her eyes in defeat, knowing her time was up. "Valhalla I pray ye let me within thy golden halls.."

~~

She waited for pain but none came, she simply opened her eyes to find herself standing in an arched doorway, her body whole again. She was dead. She was standing in the very halls she had worked so hard to earn the honour of standing in. She was in Valhalla but she knew well that she was not the only here, many of her fellow warriors would now be here after the fall of Asgard to Hela's hand. She should have been there, what would they say to her now when she saw them?

Slowly the warrior walked down the halls towards the noise of cheering and music, it would not be the warriors of Asgard if they were not partying in the afterlife, it made her smile. With a confident stride, she entered the hall and all fell silent, all eyes were on her.

"Oh nay, our beloved Lady Sif...." The voice was familiar and it not take long to realise it was that of Fandral. Her heart dropped at seeing his face.

"My friend...." Her eyes pricked with tears as she wrapped her arms around him, holding him closer than ever before. "The others? Are they here?" She choked on her words as he nodded in response.

"What took thee down? We believed thee to be safe and well."  His eyes were pained but there was a hint of happiness at seeing her again.

"I am unsure....I just....turned to dust...." Confusion filled her features. After all she had been through and survived, she was felled by dust?

"It was Thanos..."

A chill went up her spine. How? How was he of all people allowed within the halls of Valhalla. Sif turned to face the emerald clad god of mischief with a look of disdain.

"How art thou here?" She spat. The last thing she wanted was to spend her afterlife with him.

"Well it appears my dying actions gave me the golden ticket." A sly smirk creased his lips. "Now back to Thanos. Judging by thy words, his plan worked and I also assume that my brother has managed to survive. There are many of his friend's faces here within these halls and I suspect it will only be a temporary stay like thy own but here we all are for now. Permanently for me I feel."

He went on to list others that had been taken down by this Thanos, and how because of their bravery in that war led them to valhalla also when really it was meant for Asgardians alone. Sif remained calm as she listened, but she was angry. Angry that she was unable to go down with a fight, die with honour rather than just simply disappearing.

"Loki....is my mother here." She did not wish to hear anymore.

"Our mother....and aye." He nodded to the very back of the room where there was a separate door. "In there."

~~

With haste the warrior entered the small room, it looked almost like a shrine, and there she was. The woman she had been mourning all this time. The woman she missed terribly. Her mother, the late queen of Asgard.

"Mother...." She felt a warm tear run down her cheek as the older woman turned to look at her with the all too familiar warming smile she always donned. Her arms open, ready to receive her once forbidden child. Sif did not hesitate and threw herself into them as if she was a child again.

"My daughter. I have been watching thee all this time and it saddens me to see thee here within these all but my heart is also light because I get to touch thee again." She held Sif at arms length, looking her up and down with a pained but cheerful glance. "To be surrounded by one's husband and two of her children should bring me joy but not under these circumstances."

"Loki seems to think this will not last. What say ye? Thou hast always been full of much knowledge."

Frigga guided the warrior towards a plush golden chair and sat them both upon it, one of her hands covering those of her daughter with love and support, the other tucking a wayward strand of Sif's black hair behind her ear. Sif really did feel like she was young again, remembering her mother doing this during warrior school when the boys made her feel worthless for being a woman, back then she felt a connection before finding out the truth about Frigga.

"I feel he may be right. What Thanos has done can be undone, at least those who turned to dust. The others we shall have to wait and see but his magic is a magic that can be destroyed. It is out of our hands though. The most I was able to was bring the souls he took here for safe keeping until they can restored and that includes thee. However thou shalt always have a place here, thou art Asgardian after all." She smiled softly as though to soothe the worry within the maiden but Sif did not feel soothed. She felt restless. She felt useless.

"So I am to just reside here until Thor and his friends find a way to reverse it?" She felt empty inside. Yes she loved the idea of eating and drinking and partying to her hearts content but how could she when there was a war going on.

"Thou art more than welcome to stay in here with myself, away from the noise outside, if ye prefer." Frigga spoke, stroking her face, as though she had read the mind of her daughter. Sif nodded, she had time to make up with her mother and much to speak of since her death. "What say ye to chalice of wine and a nice book by the fire? Like when thou were a child?"

Sif nodded as she followed the other to the fire place and made herself comfortable in the many cushions and fur shrugs Frigga had positioned there. She took the wine graciously and rested herself against Frigga's shoulder, as she looked down at the book that was now open before her.

"I have written many new stories my darling Sif....I do think you will like them. I think Loki may like to join us for the next story, i did write it with him in mind but for now let me read ye this one." The older Asgardian put an arm around Sif whilst the other held the book and she begun reading. Her voice was soft and welcoming and Sif did not realise just how much it hurt missing her until that moment and how much she was going to miss her again when she left here, but for now she was happy to just be in her arms again and settled.

"Mother...." Sif looked up at her with a smile.

"Mmmm?" She looked back with a loving gaze.

"I love thee." She nestled back into her shoulder.

The woman smiled and placed a light kiss on Sif's head before continuing on with the story and Sif knew Frigga loved her too.
