Upon one golden realm a lone warrior stood atop a rugged cliff, staring absently into the choppy waters below her feet, the water foaming as it hit the dark rock edge.
The maiden came here to think, to be alone after battle or training, when her day became just a little too crowded. The soothing sounds of the waves washed away her anxiety and pain. It all started many years ago when her heart attached itself to one mortal. A love she never asked for, nor expected. It was a chance meeting, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and thus met the armour clad warrior.
The relationship was a whirlwind, it was on an off more times than a light-switch but the passion and love never once wavered. Even after she let him go...
"Sister....." She heard her brother call as he joined her upon the cliff. She didn't turn, she didn't even attempt to speak, she merely crossed her arms across her chest. "Sif.....'tis the mortal Lance Sweets...." That got her attention and instantly she turned towards him. "He is dead sister..."
Sif shook her head rapidly. He was lying. Sweets wasn't dead.
"How?" She croaked, not truly sure she wanted to know, if he was telling the truth.
Heimdall took her hand, his barely shared his gift as it weakened him but now wasn't a time for words but vision. She needed to see for herself. Sif gasped as her sight went dark and then blurred, the image slowly revealing itself. Cars. She saw cars. People, was that blue they were wearing? And then....
"No...." She cried as his body entered her distant gaze. She pulled away from her brother's hold, her skin turning pale. "I will save him. The high priestesses...."
"Will not aid you in whatever plan thou hast. He is dead Sif. Accept it, mourn and move on." He urged but he knew well she wouldn't let this go. He had seen her love only three times in her two millennia but never like this for a mortal. It was because of her that he was watching over him at all. "He will not thank ye should thou interfere...."
"He is dead when I say he is dead!" She called as she stormed away.

Sif had not listened to her elder sibling. She sought down the witches of legend.
They already knew she would be seeking their assistance and so were ready for her arrival.
"Thou ask too much Lady Sif....we can not play with the creation of life...unless....." The oldest of the trio began.
"A sacrifice, aye I know what is required but surely my many kills upon the battlefield are enough to grant me this?" She remarked with a stern face.
Silence fell in the ancient cavern as the three sorceresses considered her proposal. They nodded once in agreement and formed a green gem from their altar. "Take this gem. Place it within the wound that killed him. The stone shalt turn into a mystic gas and flow freely through his form, fusing itself into his bones. Bring us his ashes when the time is right, but be warned Goddess....those who return from the dead are not always the same. Thou knows this well."
Sif took the gem and made her thanks quickly before departing and travelling to Midgard, wearing the hides she often wore when visiting that realm undercover.

People's voice echoed as she snuck in the parking complex she had seen her former lover lying dead. Just ahead she saw the blue coated mortals that had appeared in her shared vision.
Ducking behind a parked car she made her way closer, seeing a further two Midgardians, a male and a woman. She recognised them as his friends, he had spoken of them often. Their eyes were wet, red and their faces pained and within seconds she saw why. The scene hit her harder than she had expected. She saw dead bodies on a weekly basis, hell she created most of them but this....this was the hardest to bear.
