Dark times began to plague the golden beacon that was the realm eternal. Buildings hung in ruins, licked by flames, blackened by smoke. Bodies lay scattered, some in tact, others in pieces. The smell of charred flesh and copper tints of blood filled the air in a nauseating mist.

Within the courtyard the scarlet warrior held her own within this battle of tyrants. Her form springing unharmed from one marauder to the next, her trusted blade passing through their rough skin with ease, coming out tinted in crimson. Their eyes rolled to the back of their heads as their lifeless forms crumpled at her feet.

She paused, hoisting herself upon a ledge to get a wider view of the scene around her. It was chaos, no structure, alas it was hard when no plan could be formed in time for the attack.

On the far side her emerald brother in arms Fandral made quick work of those who approached him. Across the other side Hogun and Volstagg worked together to rid themselves of an attack.

Thor could be heard fighting somewhere above, the sound of thunder cracking through their ears on regular intervals, men and beasts fell like flies. Sif had to step aside with haste to avoid being flattened.

She was pulled harshly from the ledge upon which she stood and her blade was separated from her form. The men whom had attempted to take the maiden down drew their own weapons against her, one pressed hard against her throat.

"Any last words whore?" One smirked.

Sif pursed her lips and shrugged.

"Aye..." She gripped his wrist and twisted hard, a crunch was heard as his hand dislocated from it's joint. He dropped the blade and howled in pain. She spun her leg around and struck his gut, her knee then colliding with his face as he bent over, her hand twisting his neck until it snapped and he fell hard against the stone.

"Drop dead..." She finished with her own smirk as she turned to the others. They etched away, their skin pale and their eyes full of fright.

"Come now don't be so...aaaaaagh!"

Her feet left the floor as something hard hit the ground and caused shockwaves to reverberate through the stone.

She landed with a thump against a pillar, rubbing the back of her head. Her vision was blurry, clouded over from the distant blow, it was a move she knew Thor to make. It needed a weapon with the same strength as Mjölnir. She shook her head and looked towards the darkened figure who towered over all.

"Thor?" She narrowed her eyes, no...he was far too tall to be Thor.

She shot to her feet and grasped her sword only to realise she didn't have it upon her. She cursed.

The figure came into view and her jaw dropped. He had a similar attire and a hammer of his own, alas he was.....different.

"I believe this is thine..." The newcomer held out his hand and within it sat her blade. Swiftly she took it from him and raised it in defence.

"I demand to know whom ye art..." She spat, not taking any chances.

"Beta Ray Bill." He spoke coldly, no emotion upon his features. She could almost sense irritation? Superiority?

Yet the name sounded familiar, had Thor mentioned it before?

"Ally or foe?" She urged...her blade against his chest.

"Ally....remove the sword woman..."

Now she definitely sensed irritation.

She lowered the sword but kept her eyes fixed upon him.

"Why attack me?"

"I did not. I saved thee. Not my problem thou got in the way." His time remained almost robotic, lifeless. He turned from her.

"Wait...I do not need saving!"

"Tell that to those who lay dead at our feet...accept help when given little goddess...." He took off before she said another word.

"Hmph!" She huffed, pouting ever so slightly. Who did he think he was? Rude, brash, extremely arrogant...ok perhaps the last part was just her but still there was something she didn't like. Didn't trust. Not yet.

She brushed herself down and climbed over the dead, heading back towards the sounds of battle. Would he be there too to show her up? She rolled her eyes and moved forth.

The battle still raged, alas now she could see the new male fighting with them. The noise from both Thor and himself was deafening yet it was getting the job done. She admired the art in which his warrior fought, even if she didn't like him much.

He caught her gaze and nodded once before his attention was taken from her.

With a cry of war she threw herself back into battle, fighting alongside her brother's in arms.

She would snoop out the alien visitor later.
